First Date??

I just had to be an AW for a quick second...today is three years since mine and FIs first date!!!  We were set up by mutual friends and our first date was at:  www.tedsmontanagrill.com/">http://www.tedsmontanagrill.com/

Since today is Good Friday (not a real celebration kind of day for me), we'll be going back to Ted's tomorrow night.

What was YOUR first date???

Aww congrats on your anniversary! :)  Getting back to your roots sounds like a good way to celebrate!

We first met at a party I was having.  Our mutual friends came, and he came with them.  He stole my spot on the couch (on purpose) and we flirted for the rest of the night. ***EDIT: I forgot the best part - some time inthe middle of the night, as we were falling asleep on the couch, he kissed me.  I was so excited/nervous/stunned I was frozen and didn't kiss back.  So he tried again, and I was still frozen.  Then he gave up and rolled over - and I got nervous - I didn't want him to think I didn't like him, so I mustered up the courage to kiss him.  And we ended up making out all night**** In the morning (we slept together - not sex, just cuddle/sleep - on the couch all night), he wanted to know my number/AIM screenname and had to leave for Father's Day celebration with his family, so I walked him to the car and we kissed and he left.

Hours later I had an IM from him asking when he could see me again, and I wasn't sure (I wanted to play it cool lol), but he persuaded me to hang out the next night after school/work (I was still in high school, end of sophmore year, at 16, but almost out for the summer, he had graduated as he was 18).  He picked me up, we rented Castaway from Blockbuster and went back to my house to watch it.  We ended up making out all night :)

Then he popped in to see me with his friend later in the week (to be like "this is the girl I've been telling you about' - isn't that cute?!) and another party for our friends' high school graduation and birthday that weekend.  We were hanging out, going between friends trying to figure out what we were, when one of our friends blurts out "ARE YOU GUYS TOGETHER YET OR WHAT?"  And so, we decided, we were.

That was June 22nd, 2001 - 11 days after our wedding date will be our 10 year anniversary :)

We never went on a first date :(...we went to NYC about a week after becomming "official" with his parents to a Yankee game, and it was then that I knew I was falling in love with him, so we'll count that!

P.S. If your going to Ted's, ask for Denise for a server, that's my best friend!  I'm pretty sure she works Sat nights too.  (If she asks, my name is Melissa)

Aw that's so great! Happy anniversary!

We actually met through mutual friends in high school.  He was a Junior and I was a Spohmore.  We flirted for a few weeks before we had our first kiss after school one day :)  November 2, 2000.  It will be 12 year anniversary a few months after we are married!  Can't believe it's been so long, time has just flown by!

For our first "official" date, we went to dinner at Bank Street Brewery in Stamford (it's since closed as a restaurant and are just open to events now -- I tried to see if we could have our wedding there but they were a bit pricey!).

We worked in the same office and were assigned to work on a project together. That night I was guest bartending and I told him he should come- a lot of people from the office would be there... I had a huge crush on him and didn't want to be obvious. He showed up and we talked the night away- he even drank my horrible concoction I made for him. A few days later he asked me out on our first official date. :):)

My second friend in college was FI's cousin.  We were in the same orientation group and hung out a little in college and had some classes together but weren't great friends.  I finally broke up with my college boyfriend the semster before graduation and started hanging out with girls in my classes more (one being his cousin).  A few years went by and she told me she wanted to introduce me to her cousin.  He had long shoulder length hair and really no interest in girls since his college girlfriend that broke up with him online.  As soon as he cut his hair, she figured he was ready for a girlfriend so she called and asked if I would be willing to meet him so I said sure.  One night in October 2009 she had both of us over to her and her boyfriend's apartment for pizza and movies.  He was very shy and hardly said anything.  We both left at the same time and he walked with me to my car and started to walk to his car.  Just before I got in my car he asked me for my number.  Of course when he called 3 days later I had a terrible headache and wasn't answering my phone.

I had plans the following weekend so the weekend after that he picked me up and we went to Harbor Park in Middletown for dinner and then to a movie.  Mind you, this was in November so we were the only ones in the entire restaurant.  It was awkward because he was still shy.  He ended up coming in when he brought me home and stayed til maybe 1am, but he didn't talk so we just watched tv.  Very awkward.

On our 2nd date, we had a group of us and went to Bingo at Foxwoods.  Again, he was shy because it was mostly my friends, however, he grew up with about 4 of them so he knew them but still didn't talk.  Again, he stayed at my house til 2am or so.  I could tell he wanted to make a move but was too shy.

On our 3rd date, I decided that if he didn't open up on this date I gave him enough chances and that was it.  Well, I went to his apartment and he made me dinner and we watched movies.  He finally kissed me and I stayed til late, almost 5am I think.  At that point I still wasn't sure about him, but we started hanging out every weekend.  The rest is history!

Oops, I know you asked for first date, I kinda went a little overboard.

Our first date was in early September 2009. We met on match and had had some great e-mails and phone convos and I was excited to meet up to see if we would have such chemistry in person.

We met at a local wine tasting bar, where I got a little tipsy because I was so nervous. In fact, I mispronounced one of the wines as "Erotica" which he still teases me about to this day!

Then we went to a local restaurant and chatted some more. At the end of the night, he was so excited that he blew a red light when he pulled out of the parking lot, which I still tease him about today too!

Our first official date was a Sunday brunch at A.C. Peterson's in West Hartford. We now live in walking distance from there and go often. It's always great to reminisce when we go.  :o)

We first met when a mutual friend tried to set us up.  I refused, by appearently my FI agreed to meet me out with a group of friends.  So our mutual friend had him come out one night when we were all going out so he could meet me (without me knowing!).  I ended up getting along with him very well, and he came out with the group a few more times before he had the courage to official ask me out to dinner.  He lived on one side of the state and I lived on the other, so we met halfway at an Outback.  We both remember there was a waiter who kept dropping glasses and breaking them (at least 5!), so whenever someone drops something, we talk about that night.
Now we live together and talk about how silly it was that we used to have to always "meet halfway" to go on dates before we got serious.

FI and I worked together at a restaurant and had hung out a few times after work (and kissed a few of those times).  We finally went on a first date about 3 weeks later in July 2008.  We had worked the lunch shift and had a drink after work, we both went home to shower get changed.  Then we met at a bar near the restaurant to have a drink before dinner.  I was so nervous and was drinking a little more than normal because of it.  We went to Galleria 33 in the North End in Boston.  We had a reservation and were supposed to ask for the manager when we got there.  But when we got there another waitress rushed us away so she could get the table.  She ended up sitting us next to the cappachino machine and it was so loud the entire time.  And we could the manager getting mad at our waitress for what she did.  It was still the most amazing first date.  We were so comfortable with each other we ended up sharing our entrees.  Best first date I've ever been on.

We met online, so our 1st date was coffee at Starbucks at Barnes and Noble, we sat and talked and wandered around the book store.  It was fun, every now and then we go back and have coffee and talke in the same store.

We started dating before we realized we were dating. We would hang out, just the two of us, and eat dinner or go to the mall or to a bar, but we didn't consider ourselves girlfriend and boyfriend. On July 3, 2009 we were hanging out in my room late at night listening to music and we kissed. It was so late that we aren't even sure if it was July 3 or 4 when we actually kissed but we hold July 4 as our anniversary because in the morning we had to figure out what we were now that we had crossed the line. One of us (although we can't remember which one) said "well we're pretty much already dating, might as well be official" so he took my claddagh ring off my finger, flipped it around and put it back on, making me taken. Our two year anniversary will be 16 days after the wedding.

We met when I went to buy my car.  He was my car salesman and I left that day and told my best friend and roommate I had a new crush on my car salesman.  He called 4 days later and asked me out, I guess he had a crush too.  We went to dinner that weekend at Trumbull Kitchen and then out for drinks after at Hot Tomatos.
