Places to stay...The Elms Resort in Excelsior Springs, Argosy Casino in Riverside (has a Spa with great couples packages)

Things to do..World's of Fun (weekends only right now), KC Zoo, Sea Life Aquarium, if you like shopping, small towns like Weston have lots of small shops located in downtown.

The other girls mentioned a lot of good entertainment ideas. For dinner I would check out the places on the Plaza. They have some nice and romantic restaurants there. (albeit pricey) Some of my favorites-
Fogo de Chao (brazilian steakhouse)
Melting Pot (my fave- ask for a secluded table in the back!)
McCormick & Schmick's (seafood)
Ruth's Chris Steakhouse

There is also some great shopping on the Plaza too.

For my SO's birthday a few years ago I decided to do a Weston day getaway. The town is small and so neat! We did some shopping at the local stores, wine tasting at the winery and then dinner at the Vineyards as well. It was a great day! They also have great B&B, but since we live lovally, we made a day trip of it. I ahve heard from several of my friends that have stayed overnight, that it was a wonderful nights stay!

I hear Parkville has some great options too!
