Wedding Party

Picking a Bridesmaid

Ok so I am pretty positive who I want to choose for my bridesmaids already(wedding in January 2010) but there is one girl who I am still trying to decide on. We are not super close now but she played a big part in my engagement party and we are getting closer. I have a feeling we are going to get a lot closer over the next year and if I don't ask her I will wish I had by the time my wedding gets here. Should I just let her have another role in the wedding because she's not the kind of girl who will get her feelings hurt if she isn't a bridesmaid or anything(she'll be happy with whatever) or should I go ahead and take the chance?

Re: Picking a Bridesmaid

  • If you want her, pick her.  But don't give her a lesser role.  Nobody wants to be the guestbook attendant.  If you decide not to include her as a BM, let her just be a guest.  That's an honor, too.

  • I'm confused about when your wedding is. Depending on how much time there is until your wedding, you could wait until its closer to decide. If you decide not to make her a bridesmaid, I wouldn't give her a "lesser role" though. If she isn't a bridesmaid but does help you a lot with wedding planning, you could always get her a nice gift to show your appreciation.
  • If you don't want to make her a bridesmaid but you want her involved in the wedding, ask her to be a reader, or to have role in the ceremony if she's musical.

RIP Dr. Irving Fishman - 10/1/19-7/25/10 - thank you for holding on for me.
You made my wedding day complete.

When is your wedding? Huh? January 2010? Another time machine wedding?!

I think that maybe you should just ask her to do a reading closer to the wedding date. It's not very wise to pick someone for your BM on the assumption that it will make you closer.
  • ATTN EVERYONE:

I know it's hard to believe, but it's already almost 5 months into 2010.  In case you missed them:  New Year's Day, Valentines Day, Groundhog Day, Easter, Lent, Good Friday, Passover - they're ALL GONE.

Hope you're looking forward to Memorial Day
Holy Crap. We survived the first year!
