OMG TK Where's my morning post?

Re: OMG TK Where's my morning post?

  • Uniform City has pretty cheap scrubs.  I'm not sure if there's one in your area, but you could order them online.

  • MuSu, my dad and brother are all over LinkedIn. I've never used it, but they've both found it helpful.

  • Thanks, Rachers and Adamar. I actually found one place close to me. H called and they said we might have to order them. He is 6'4 and really slim so we have to find some that are long enough.

  • Oreo, Google tells me there's a place called Scrubs and Beyond. It's on Fannin St in Houston. There are also a bunch of places to order them online.

Or, if you're handy with a sewing machine, fabric stores have the patterns for a couple of bucks.
  • Great news Eorea!

July, that whole situation is so sad. I didn't realize another student had passed. :( How horrible.
  • I'm going to be a bit of a PW this morning so I can make myself shinier. TK better work. I would like my gold.

Rach, why does your FI lick trees? :)

ETA: Rach has no H. Not yet. Soon.
  • I've never licked a tree but I've sniffed different bark before on a trip in the moutains in MT. Tree bark can smell really good!

  • According to my history professor, some bark can be used to brush your teeth. It happened a lot during the Great Depression.

    I'll stick with my Sonicare.
  • Did my post get eaten?

I'm told some tree bark can be used to brush your teeth. That sounds awful.
  • TK sucks. I hope this doesn't double post.

Special, you are awesome! I guess I didn't find that one on my google search because I was looking closer to my area. Fannin St. is on the other side of town but it's perfect because I'm going that way this weekend to visit a friend. The website looks awesome.

Yes it can. It's also one of those smells that can get super overwhelming really easily. Like pine cones. I'll never forget when someone decided the best place for an entire crate of scented pine cones was directly under the vent in the garden department. The whole place reeked of it in a matter of hours.

  • I'm weird and I associate certain tree bark smells with colors. But I also associate most people in my life with different colors, I have synesthesia.

I'm guessing "supposed to" are the key words there? We had ID cards all through HS but I'm pretty sure the only thing it got me was into basketball games and the ability to check out library books.

    *throws confetti*
  • Midge, the cards Megan and I are talking about were totally useless. They took forever to get and had no use other than as identification. You couldn't use them like a college ID and buy your lunch with it. You didn't need it to check out books.

IIRC, there was a bit of community outrage at the ridiculous, wasted expense. They didn't even last through a full year, and they were abandoned.
  • That would have sucked to be required to display a badge all day in HS. I can only imagine how many people lost them or forgot them, especially as teenagers.

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: OMG TK Where's my morning post? : I remember putting my hair in braids after my shower the night before picture day so my hair would be wavy. It was poofy. Aaaaaand I decided that I didn't want my braces to show so I tried a sexy smoldering look with my kick ass Bonnie Bell silver lipstick.<strong> I looked like a pissed off poodle.</strong> Of course THAT'S the picture they wanted me to display at all times.

<div>That's how I looked every day of HS.</div><div>
</div><div>MuSu, they stopped punishing kids because so many of us disregarded the rule. They couldn't punish all of us. FTR, I had a sticker over the photo on mine.</div>
  • We had id's in highschool but it only really was used to check out library books and during mid-terms/finals since we had different teachers proctoring.

  • When I was in HS we had to have an ID badge on us at all times. I actually didn't mind because I would tape pictures on the back of mine to be "cool". I never lost mine but it cost money to replace if you did lose it. I forgot the punishment for forgetting. I think you just had to get a temporary one.

This is how it was for us in high school too.  I absolutely don't miss it and I remember my picture being awful!
  • I don't think I ever used my HS ID. It just sat in my wallet.
    image
  • We didn't use our HS cards for anything.  The only reason I've gotten a college ID is because I can get discounts on stuff with it.

  • Adamar, my H went back to school this fall, and he was so excited to get a student discount at the movie theater.

<div>I still have mine. I don't know why. I just kept it. My picture is so bad and I look so pissed off in it. I think I took the picture the day I got caught skipping school so that explains the look. Not to mention my hair and make-up in that picture. It's really bad. </div>

That's funny!  I'm pretty sure mine went right into the trash the day I finished with high school.

  • For some reason, I thought his dad's name was David. It's not. Still, I get sad and nervous every time I pass that spot.
