  I would not waste your money on a kit. It is not hard at all to change your name. I was married before so I have changed my name twice. Once when I got married and then again when I got divorced and didn't need a kit for it. I think it is just a way to get money out of people.

  Honestly, all the name change kit does is find out the procedures for you at each place. When I was in banking a few of the banks handles this in different ways and different utility companies and etc. It is really not hard to do yourself just may require some time if you have lots of accounts to change.

  Mine took about 3 days after I ordered it online to get to me. It shouldn't take too long for Iowa, I woud think. :)

  I won't be bothering with a kit.  I've heard it's not too difficult at all.  I would suggest posting on your local board asking the exact steps to take (some vary by state) and just go with it.
