Black River Barn

Has anyone ever been to an event catered by Black River Barn in Denville (either off-site, or on-site)? I've read one reviewer say theri off-site catering was great, but I'm also curious as to whether anyone that's eaten at the restaurant thinks it'd be an okay spot for a casual wedding. From their website, I can't really tell... thanks all!

    If you are talking about the one in Randolph, I went to a Mother's Day brunch buffet this year and wasn't impressed by the food. Also wasn't crazy about the atmosphere.

    I've  been there for a party before.  The food is ok.  I wasn't impressed.  The feel inside is very casual...maybe a bit country.  Its a regular restaurant so you should make plans to go there for dinner one night and check it out for yourself.  Everyones taste is different.

    I agree with both PP's but I do think it has some potential. It's got wonderful outside space (decks, not large party areas). The room can actually be quite quaint when set up for dinner, but they pack em in!!! Particularly for the Mother's Day brunch! They are the same owners as Cinder's on Rt. 46 in Kenvil and they have a party room downstairs that is more formal looking and "nicer" in general. Check them out too. GL

    Oh- and they just opened up one in Rockaway. Haven't been to that one yet though
