Spanx?

I went to the new Nordstrom Rack store last weekend (it is awesome!) and they had some Spanx on sale ($20, not bad!).  I bought a pair and then tried it on at home. I went by the size chart, but man, it was SO tight, I couldn't get it up past my knees!  I then went back today and tried on the next size up in the dressing room, still couldn't get it past my knees.  I was afriad of ripping it!

Am I crazy or has anyone else had ths problem before?  Do you have to go like 2 or 3 sizes up?  I really want something to smooth my belly out, but this was ridiculous.

PS.  I also found a *gorgeous* dress last weekend that I plan to wear for our engagement shoot, only $45 for dupioni silk!  I'm in love!

I have one Spanx item I got since I have a red ralph lauren that is gorgeous, but looks less than gorgeous on unless you are completely flawless.  It's tight to get on past your legs, but once you get it on it feels fine

yea they are definately small sized....i had same problem
I also found slimming undies on marshalls for half the price, worth a look!
you know they have special spanx now with a convenient.... ahem.....hole? so you can pee without taking them off? sounds gross but for anyone thats been sweating almost popping back muscles taking them up and down in a toilet cubicle, its genius :) i plan to wear one in my wedding dress!

They definitely do run small.  It'll definitely take some work trying to get them up, but once they're up they work!

Target sells a knockoff of Spanx called Assets (in the socks/nylons/tights section). They run true to size and are not as difficult to get on/off.

I am a Spanx fan, once you figure out your size they are amazing - I swear I lose a dress size when I put them on. I have this one business suit and when I've eaten too much and the pants are straining I throw on the Spanx and they fit.

I've found that faux-Spanx are not the same - they cause lumps of flesh to spill over the top or at the thighs - and they pinch. Spanx are a pain to get on but once they're on they're pretty comfortable. I've worn them twice at weddings all day as a bridesmaid and they are fine.

I have a longer line one that goes up to your bra (I think it's meant to somehow attach but I haven't figured that out) and then to about mid-thigh, it works miracles on my belly!

LOL at the "hole" - the one that I have has that. I did try it once, was wearing a dress and couldn't face rolling it down and back up - I wouldn't try it again! I'd only had one martini so I can't blame that but you kind of have to hold the opening open and then aim straight - disaster!!!

I don't have any recommendations, but I have to say, FI & I were walking through Neiman Marcus the other day and saw they now have Spanx for men!  We both laughed out loud.  Made me think of the Seinfeld episode with the "bro."  ;)

If you put your forearms into the leg holes from the waist and push outwards it helps to loosen them so you can pull them up with ease.  I swear by these things.  Also after a few uses and washes they are easier to put on.  I use the full body ones lol.  They start just under my bra and end at my feet.  And you can definitely lose a dress size.
