  • BS in Biochemistry, Chemistry, and Biology.  Yes I have three degrees.  I also have a specialization in forensic science.  If that wasn't enough, I just completed my certification to be a Biology/Special Education Teacher.  I am 6 classes away from having a MS in Urban Education.

  • BS in Nursing :-)
  • I has a BA in english and a minor in sociology. In a way you always use an english degree, but I'm definitely not in a career that uses it directly.
It doesn't have to be perfect to be everything I want!

  • Bachelors in Computer Science with a concentration in Internet Systems, minor in women studies.
Masters in Information Assurance (fancy way of saying computer network security).
So far my Masters is going to waste because my job wont recognize it and only see the word Comp Sci and keep making me a programmer... Im an odd bred I can program but I hate it, thats why I went to get the masters so I could break into the area I'm truly passionate about...

  • jwrenne - My brother is a network security specialist and certified ethical hacker. :) He works as a contractor for the government. He said the most valuable asset he ever gained was his CISSP certification - no place will take you seriously without it. He doesn't even have a bachelor's degree, but he's got CISSP and CEH and a heck of a talent with computers.

As for me, I've got an AS (Associate of Science in Science, Math & Engineering (basically a general studies degree, but focused on the science/math side). I've majored in biology, anthropology and cultural studies. To this day, I have no idea what my BS will be in. I adore chemistry but don't want to be a chemist. I adore anthropology but don't want to be a researcher. So, who knows. I'm considering getting my AAS in photography, but I also think that photography is one of those fields that a degree is completely worthless in. Either you have the talent and skills or you don't, and no piece of paper will ever create them for you.

I am not using my degree at all. I work at an amusement park and am working on building up my portrait photography business. I'm hoping within two years to make the transition to full-time photographer.

  • violakat03: I am working on getting my CISSP. A couple more months worth  of studying for the CISSP and I think I might be ready enough to take it. I took a class and have tons of CISSP study guides but there are still a few domains that I'm not too confident on.
