I'm sorta over the Lomg dot is crazy! Why do you guys talk to her" crap I see. I only vaguely recall her history and in all honesty I don't overly care. If anything, she adds something to the board. And she gardens. I can't hate on a gardener.

That thread actually make me think about all of the slippery slope arguments about gay marriage somehow how leading to widespread acceptance of incest... blah, blah, blah. And I suddenly realized that I don't care if two blood-relatives want to get it on, as long as there aren't children involved and everyone is a consenting adult.

Celles or Mara - this is not meant to be argumentative because I am honestly wondering, would you feel the same if this was happening between two of your own siblings? I am genuinely curious. If one of my sisters was gay, it would be no issue. If two of my sisters were gay with each other, yeah, I'd be weirded out. I'd still love them of course, but it would be really weird.

I guess my question about the siblings thing is whether it is the biology that bugs people or the history of the relationship, as in, what if two people were separated at birth and never knew they were biologically siblings but fell in love...weird? Or is it only weird if the two people grew up together? A lot of people think its really weird that my brother and step sister are common-law partners but they met when they were 26. Their parents had only met each other one year prior. If my dad and her mom had never married it wouldn't be 'weird' but because they did it is? (Not saying this was implied, it's just that people have said to me in the past that it is 'wrong' or 'weird')

As long as nobody is being hurt I could'nt care less who likes whom or does what with whom.

I only have one sibling in reality this wouldn't happen. But theoretically, I still wouldn't care or be weirded out. I'm pretty open when it comes to stuff like this. Polygamy doesn't bother me either.

Yeah, I'm going to have to agree with Blue. It wasn't a question of letting two gay men love each other. It was a question of letting two gay twin brothers have sex with each other. I don't think that it makes me bigoted to hold that view either.

I'm tentative to jump in because I wasn't around for the thread about the twin brothers in love so I couldn't comment there, and I don't want to make AYG a whole debate about it, but I definitely don't think that peoples shock was "pearl clutchy" and I think it is disingenuous or out of touch for you to act (or even genuinly be) surprised that people would think it was weird.

I don't think that it is a slippery slope with gay marriage at all. I think it would be just as shocking and people would find it similarly weird if it were a brother and sister that grew up together.

Polygamy doesn't bother me at all as long as the individuals are all consenting adults. I don't mind the idea of polygamy at all. I think that the twins vs. polygamy are so different that emotions towards and opions on them couldn't even begin to be compared.
