s/o poll

Would your SO buy you feminine products?

Re: s/o poll

  • Him getting it right involves me drawing diagrams though and listing the exact features of the product (and what I don't want...like scent).
  • I know that should be "too many times."

For normal stuff DH would be fine, but I didn't know how to explain what I wanted for postpartum.  This is how I ended up at Walmart last night.
  • I have a friend who needed her husband to make a feminine product run.  She tore off the box top and gave it to him to take with him to the store.  He came back with exactly what she wanted,  Brilliant!

He's done it and he gets it right because I send him with a portion of the old box (not dirty) that says the name and all the important info.
  • He did it once. It ended badly.

And now I buy the giant box of tampons from Costco so I only have to get them like twice a year
  • I kinda made the ability to be willing to do this a dating dealbreaker.
  • I've done the same as other ladies and just sent a portion of the box with him so that he gets the right thing.

I'm with GB as well, that I always found out early in a relationship what a guy thought of periods.  It has always annoyed me that it's treated like something mysterious or squicky by some men.  It's a biological necessity and not something to be ashamed of or treated like voodoo.
  • SS - he has, and he got it right (he also had to buy me underwear in the same trip and got that right) but it was a one time thing that I am sure will never be duplicated.  What are the chances he'd get something right again?

  • I'll text him a picture of the box.

But really, I do 99% of the shopping, so whatevs.

And yes, postpartum is a totally different animal. Ugh.

  • Yeah, he got it right, because I write down exactly what I need. Just like I write down exactly what he wants when I'm getting him shaving cream or whatever.

He has less of an issue with my period than I do. Probably because he only has to hear about it; he doesn't have to live with it.
