Connecticut

Average costs

So, we're narrowing down our venue selection and I think we're going to go with Saint Clements. Yay!

So now, I'm trying to put together a somewhat realistic budget and have no idea how much the other stuff is going to cost in CT. Thought I'd put it out there - can you ladies share with me how much you spent for the following:

  • Flowers (# bridesmaids, # centerpieces, etc)
  • DJ or band and cost
  • Transportation (hours, type etc.)

  • Photographer (hours and who)

I appreciate your sharing this with me and if you want to PM me instead, that is fine.  Thanks in advance for your info!

My flowers, from Forever Flowers & Gifts in Norwich, are running me about 1,500 for a bridal party of 14 (including myself & FI), parents, step-parents, grandparents, 18 centerpieces, and a few more random arrangements.

My DJ, Jason Palermo, charges about $700 for weddings (but I could be wrong on that, it might be a little less)

My photographers, the guys of Visual Obsession, charge $2,700 and that includes all photos and 2 photographers for the entire day, none of this 6 or 8 hours nonsense.

    Hope this helps!

Using Beachwood Florist in Milford. Around $1600+ for flowers: 14 ppl in the wedding party, both sets of parents, two grandmas, 17 centerpieces, flowers for cake, two arrangements for church and pew bows. Our photographer is Dave Margolis (http://www.davidmargolisphotography.com), $1500 for all day not including album. He usually charges more but since he's FI's client he gave us a discount.  Videographer is http://ctweddingmovies.com, FI is doing the editing himself so our videographer is only charging $800. DJ, we are using Music in Motion. $2000 for 5 hours including lighting.

My flowers are pretty expensive Just for You is amazing! I would set aside 1500-2k depending on your centerpiece numbers.

My photographer is Brooke Allison Photography. She offers 2 photographers for all day and they are 2k.

My videographer is Digital-i they offer 2 people for 10 hours, blu ray and regular dvds, a small online video (forget what they are called), slideshow, etc. and he is $1700.

DJ Music in Motion 1750 with 2 djs and lighting. We are also doing the photobooth and uplighting with them as well for additional costs.

For transportation I am doing ABC Cosmopolitan offering a limo to the church for the bridal party and a party bus from the church to the reception. They were very reasonably priced and the only thing I have come under budget with so far!! I think the limo was $300 but that included the tip and tax.

Remember that there is tax for everything and most vendors need a tip. I forgot to include this when planning the budget lol.

The only thing that I have on your list is a photographer who is charging me 1650 for 8 hours incl. travel expense, engagement session and rights (no online proof or album or a 2nd photog).  If you want a second photog he chargs an extra $500 so will bring you to about $2200 so not that far off from other people's costs.  His name is John Loconte and based out of Boston, very nice guy.

I am making my own flowers, I have a friend who will help with the video.  Transportation still unknown but since the ceremony and reception are in the same place I won't be needing one for the bridal party.

Flowers: Jane from Just for You Weddings, we paid about $1500 for my bridal bouquet, MOH bouquet, 5 BM bouquets, a Jr. BM bouquet, rose petals for FG basket and petal cones, gazebo decorations for ceremony, 12 centerpieces at reception, they also decorated the fireplace and draped the ceiling for me.

    http://www.justforyouweddings.com/

DJ: Tom Salatto from Starry Nite Entertainment, we paid $900 for him to do the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. AWESOME job, he was honestly my favorite wedding dj ever and not because I'm bias!

    http://home.comcast.net/~tsalatto/index.htm

Limo: N/A because everything was held at the same venue so we didn't need it.

Photography: We paid about $4500 for a photography and videography package from MJS Photography. We had the photographer for 9 hours and the videographer for 8 hours. We also just received our "rights disc" for all our photos, we'll be able to order several prints, a wedding album, 2 parent albums, and we'll have the full unedited version of our wedding video and then a 20 minute edited version to show family and friends.
