I am looking for a great photographer that services Cape Cod. I love the photojournalistic style that many photographers are taking now. Does anyone have any advice? Is it possible to keep photography packages under $3000? Please let me know who you have worked with. Thanks!

    Im using Paul Blackmore....he has a website-if you google his name.  He photographs in a photojournalistic style.  He has done a bunch of our friends weddings and everyone was really happy.

    I am using Portrait New England. They are artistic photojournalists... I just got an email from them this week about a promotion they're having: if you book any package by the end of the month they will include a free engagement session. Obviously, that special is no good to me but you might wanna check it out.

    check out Paul Blackmore or Vince Dewitt. They are/have been award-winning newspaper photographers. They are both easy to work with and you will absolutely love their photos.

    Kristen Dawn has more of a fun photo style (less posey posey) and her prices are significantly lower than $3000.  She shoots with her sister so you get 2 photographers for that price.  She recently did our engagement photos, and will have pictures from our wedding in a few weeks some time in July.

    I am just starting the planning process but I was looking at
    Annalise C. Mecham Photography in Harwich.  I like her work and she seems resonable priced.  Just a thought...!  Good luck planning.

    I know you have received tons of suggestions, but we are using John Lo Conte, he is very very reasonable...we have him for 8 hrs around $1500.  I absolutely love his work and he is a sweetheart.

    We had Amanda Considine.  She was by far the best vendor that we worked with and her work is amazing! She is such a talented photographer and such a great personality! We absolutely loved working with her!  All my friends said that when they get engaged they are going to book her!  She also had a huge part of my wedding day helping us out and made things run smoothly!     We also didnt want the posey type of pics or a lil of each. Photojournalistic was a top pick for us. This company has a bunch of photographers who have their own style and they get them all together to meet with them before you even make any decisions which was awesome.

    I absolutely fell in love with this company not just bc they offer other packages services as well as photography but we had the same price point as yourself. we didn't want all posey pics neither. they have what is called "the Pros Standards" which includes 8 hours at all times, high res cd with all copyrights, unlimtied number of shots, web hosting, Your choice of an exclusive 36-page album.* All Pros albums are available in a combination of:  Matted or Flush-Mountedmore info

    Self or Custom Designmore info

    Standard or Metallic Papermore info

    40 to 100 additional loose and finished Bonus Prints as 8x10 or smaller.*


    they're albums are amazing. they host wine & cheese events where u go and get to experience who they are and what they do. they have albums to sample and u can meet with them. we just clicked with this one guy Peter Su and I can't wait to see what he comes up with. We also got a discount on 2 parents albums by just talking about our budgets. so we went over $200 but we got a parent album for each parents to keep. And I loved that we could have a simply album or a more detailed album and we'd be creating how the album turned out. You get so much freedom with them I love it. they are truly worth the price with what they offer.

    We are also using John LoConte. He is SO easy to work with and has the style you are looking for. Packages start significantly lower than $3K.

    Ugh. Beware of The Pros. They are a huge bait and switch company. You think you are getting a good photographer, but at the last minute they change it to someone you have never met before. Do a quick Google search and check it out - they have hundreds of complaints filed against them. In some cases, the photographer/videographer/DJ never even showed up.

    We're going with Amber Shomo with Forever Candid. She has been AMAZING to work with so far. She is based out of Salem, MA so she'd charge like $150 travel fee. But her packages start at $1800. She custom-made a package for me to fit in my budget and it includes everything I wanted! I definitely recommend her.
