Both, kinda. Except people are more referencing Salty's flaming in the past, whereas friendlypeanut is currently a tacky, foolish weirdo.

    *raises hand*

I didn't log on today until FFF was at page 4 or 5, so I missed the initial mention of SP. And I've always thought it was common for people to say they actually like someone who is being flamed, as long as it's not the actual flamee who's saying they like themselves. Actually, that's quite common too nowadays.

Exactly. :) I do have one pink dress from Charlotte Russe, I wore it to a sorority formal once. It was bright magenta and showed lots of boobs (hard to do when you have none like me) and twirled perfectly when you spun around. I still have it, not because I'd probably ever wear it again, but because I just can't bear to part with it!

I would actually question a person who didnt defend themself when being flamed, it seems kind of crazy to me. Pretty much EVERYONE who gets flamed, defends themself once they find out. I thought flame free friday was that you can flame and not get shiit about it? I have no idea.

Yeah, because what was said to/about me is in absolutely NO way even on the same remote page as TSP. Get real. All anyone said is how they didn't understand where all the TSP love is coming from. She's usually pretty quiet around here, no one ever really confesses their undying love for her like they do, say, Fishy.

True, she is pretty quiet around here now, which is why the random "hate" today for her might have been just as surprising to others as the random "love" was for you guys. Even if a poster has been MIA for awhile, if I liked them but someone now decides to say that they sucked, I am likely to mention that I didn't think they were bad. This happens all the time here, and I'm still not quite sure why TSP is being singled out like this.

Oh, I'm not saying defending you wasn't justified. It totally was. But I know how seeing one's name pop up in FFF can be hurtful, especially when that person really doesn't say much anyway, and I wanted TSP to know that I lurve her. That's all.

I don't question them...I think that it just depends on the situation. As we've seen today, when people being flamed try to defend themselves, it only gets worse.

Sometimes it's just easier to roll with the punches and let it go.

It was more someone pointing out that a poster can be called out in FFF early on in their knotting and then become a popular reg. TSP was given as an example of such a poster, but no one was flaming her currently. I haven't been here long, but I think I remember someone said she was annoying once awhile ago. Hardly a serious flame, but there you go.

True, TR. It just seemed like more than a handful of folks were jumping in with "oh right TSP, ugh." Which would imply that perhaps she didn't quite come out of it unscathed and people are still flaming and disliking her. It just seemed excessive because she hasn't been around in forever, and wasn't a villain when she was here.

Eh, I'm not defending myself today because 1) I can see the point, even though I think it was only because my wording was off, not my intention and 2) I already defended myself when it happened, and still expected it to come up in FFF. It isn't worth it.

Not to mention, when someone says, "So-and-so is annoying, though I can't quite put my finger on why..." Well, maybe that person just thinks someone is annoying. Personality conflict. Not everyone gets along. FFF isn't about being constructive and trying to get people to be better people. It's about saying, "You did something stupid, you hoar."

  • Maybe I misunderstood the point of FFF. I just always thought it was a place to say what you think and the person you say it about isn't supposed to get all defensive or something. ::shrug:: Maybe I'm wrong.

I like TSP too. I have a feeling there is some serious miscommunication going on in this thread because for some reason people are just blindly trying to defend TSP without even really understanding why she was brought up today.
