Wedding Photographer in the Twin Cities!

I've been looking and looking for the past couple months trying to find a wedding photographer at a reasonable price. I've found some that look pretty good but I feel nervous about choosing someone who I haven't heard REAL reviews about. If anyone has any amazing photographers (or photographers to stay away from) that they've used please let me know! I'm looking to be somewhere between $1000 and $1800 for at least 8 hours of coverage. I need your help!!

Just got my engagement photos today and can't say enough good things about Ben Berndt!  He's $1800 for 8 hours of coverage in 2011, but much cheaper if you're getting married in the middle of the winter like my roommate is.

Also popular on here is Render Photography, who I think is still in that price range!

Snap Grin! www.snapgrinphoto.com for their info; we've only done our e-pics so far (in bio) and we had a blast.  When we booked in Spring they were $1000 for two photogs all day, and e-pics.  I think they're closer to $1500 now?

or check out the MSP bio in my sig or the knot's list of local resources!

Joshua Lemon  is amazing!  He did our engagement photos at the beginning of the month and we can't wait for him to do our wedding.   I would recommend searching him on Facebook if you have an account.  He updates his page after every shoot that he does so you can see his most up to date work.  8 hours is $1200 and I think all day is $1800.

Our photographer is Jade Staus, who might come into your range, depending on what you're looking for.  He's a friend of ours and a coworker of FI's, so we got a discount.  He even teaches Photoshop, so he can make anyone look good.  His website is stausphoto.com.

I'm doing Camelot Weddings, but I think at 8 hour might be more than that (I am only doing 4)

We're using Imagen by Alex.  It's $1077 (random number, I know) for all day, unlimited wedding photography plus 2 other photo sessions of your choice (e-pics, boudoir, rehearsal dinner, family shot, bridal, etc.)

We just had our e-pics last weekend and Alex and Lizzy were amazing to work with.  We get our photos back at the end of this week so I'll post some when we get them.

    Good Luck!

Randi Johnson 1012photo.com hands down. She made our budget wedding look like a million bucks, some PIB. She is incredible to work with.

I'm a Render bride and would totally recommend her, however her prices have gone up and she is no longer in that price range. She's at $1700 for six hours currently and it goes up from there.

Thanks everyone for your recommendations! We have it narrowed down to two photographers we love Meg Cooper and Matt Sepeta. We met with them this week and it's going to be tough to decide which one we want to use. I'd definitely recommend them for anyone who wants to stay in the $900 to $1200 price range! Here are their sites:

If you're still looking, try http://www.gatheringguide.com/event_dir/mn_minnesota/minneapolis/evl_photographers.html which will give you a list of everyone you can call and compare prices on. Good photographers shouldn't charge so much!
