Need a pick me up

I've been feeling a little down in the dumps lately and I don't know why.  Because of that I've been feeding my face with food but I know that done'st help and only makes me feel worse, not to mention the weight I've put on from doing that.  I would have thought the nice weather would help but not this time.

What make you feel better when you have the blues?

I'll eat a piece of chocolate or go through old pictures. looking at pictures of fun vacations or me and my friends can be really helpful to me, but it may be because they are so far away and it cheers me up to remember the good ol' days, lol..

I get that sometimes too! I usually try to eat more veggies and remember to take a multivitamin. Oh and going on a family walk with FI and the dog around the neighborhood. Sometimes with an adult beverage. Especially since the weather has gotten warmer! Hope you're feeling better!

Autumnbride, sorry to hear you are down in the dumps. If you can't put your finger on a reason (stress, other issues), then maybe you should go to the doctor. I know it sounds "Mom-ish" for me to say that, but there are a lot of things it could be........

    - thyroid
    -depression
    - PMS

Other things. When you notice a change in your feelings, but nothing around you has really changed, then sometimes going to the doc can help. Just my opinion, but by talking through symptoms (I write them down first), with the doctor, sometimes they can hit on clues to figure it out.

    Good luck.

    I'm sorry you're feeling that way. :(

I know it's hard when you're feeling down, but what works for me is to try and get myself out of the house and doing something!  It'll distract you from wanting to eat out of boredom AND help you feel better about yourself because you're being productive and active.  Sometimes I just need to break up my ho-hum routine, and then I feel energized and more up-beat about life in general.  Is there an activity you've always wanted to try but never found the time to do it?  You could take dance lessons for the wedding or enroll in an exercise class.  Or even do something on your own, like make a commitment to go for a walk every night after dinner or do a yoga routine in the morning.  It works for me anyway. :)  Good luck!  We're here for you if you need to talk!

Thanks everyone I'll have to try some new things and take some real time for me.

Sue thanks for your concern, I get like this from time to time.  Last time I saw my doctor physically I was fine.  I'm think it hormones or stress

Autum bride it sounds like its time for some girl time. Do you have friends that you can hang out it. I was going through the same thing a few weeks back. I started feeling better once I started getting out. Hope you feel better soon

Yup! girl time or sleep works for me! LOL A little ice cream wont'hurt, as long as you are prepared to go for a little jog aftewards. Right now my little stress reliever has been walking around my neighborhood with my ipod. I sometimes get so into it, I find myself dancing while walking. LOL the neighbors may think I am crazy or on some sort of crack, but hey, it works for me! LOL

    feel better! and cheer up!

I'm sorry to hear you're feeling blue. I have found the best 'feel good' for me is exercise. Whether its a walk around the neighborhood or going to the gym. Just getting moving really helps me feel energized and happy.

And you know, knottie GTGs never hurt! Going out with friends is anyother great way to do something fun.

    Hope you're feeling better soon!
