Nevada-Las Vegas

2014 Vegas Brides!

Where my fellow brides at? What are your plans or have you even started planning? I'm always trying to get things done early, so atlhough our engagement has been slow (about 2 years) we have officially decided on Vegas for the location and now I'm pumped to get the planning started! Looking forward to hearing from you all... and sorry in advance for all the questions I'll be asking Wink

The only thing I've got thus far is the dress! It was the fourth one I tried on "just for fun" and had to get it, even though our wedding probably isn't until May or June of 2014... hey, when you know you know right?

If you're getting married in Vegas in 2014, or earlier, and have any tips, tricks or insider knowledge, feel free to share!

We're looking for a small-ish wedding 50-60 people. A short ceremony (prob outside at a hotel or something, we don't really love the chapel idea) and more traditional reception with dj/dancing. Still trying to nail down the details, but welcome suggestions on affordable locations (we're trying to get this done under $10,000), reception locations (must be able to have a first dance and father daughter dance), dj's, photographers, and whatever else, I welcome it!

Wedding planning is so fun, but so overwhelming!!

Xoxox,
Alicia

  • I'm early 2014. I've been on this board since early last year, getting ideas and researching online. I'm an early planner too, and it doesn't hurt. I've been booking vendors as they become available to book for my date since I've been looking for a while. I have booked hair and makeup, ceremony and dinner. I bought my dress early too. We are using Skyline at the Quad hotel for ceremony, and Wicked Spoon at Cosmo for dinner. Our guest count is similar, and you'll be able to find lots of options. Welcome!
  • I'm another 2014 bride, planning for April 2014, its great to see that some of you have already booked things, I imagine Vegas being a more last minute plan but am eager to get things booked and felt silly booking things over a year in advance, but not anymore thanks girls! We want a very specific date and times so I guess we should secure them as soon as we can!

Our vague plans so far are:
    Stay: Tower Suite at Mirage
Ceremony: Little Church of the West
Photos: Welcome to Vegas Sign and Neon Boneyard
    Reception: Buffet somewhere (Wynn?)
    Strip Tour - maybe?!
    After Party - in-suite

I'll need to arrange hair & make-up as well, and a photographer maybe (am hoping a couple of my photographer friends will want to come and 'work' for us!).

Wow, it all seems like a lot to do now that I see it all written down here!

Hi Alicia! Got married at Rainbow Gardens last Dec 28. It has all the things ure looking for. They have all inclusive packages for 60 ppl. I think the package is around 5000 which includes : ceremony plus rehearsal hors d'oeuvres served before reception dj emcee buffet style dinner open bar! cake photography everything was perfect! I even used their centerpieces. My husband got his tax rental free since he rented 3 sets for the entourage. Then enchanted florist gave me free cake topper and throw bouquet when I booked them. Pastor Bill was nice and we had a nice ceremony by the garden gazebo outside with falls on the side. The DJ was also good and had guests on their feet! Try visiting their website and set an appt. Look for Marta : u wont be disappointed Sheryllyne

I am a 2014 Bride...haven' booked anything yet.  We are really interested in the Mandarin Oriental because we may be getting married in August and don't want to melt.  I've been looking on this site since last April when we got engaged.  I am so ready to get the ball rolling on this planning.
  • hello all :) this is my first post!

I'm on the same boat as everyone else.. I thought I was a little too early to start planning! We're planning to have it around spring 2014. either end of march or end of may. small guest list - 40 to 60.
I don't have anything booked yet... been emailing most hotels in vegas for their wedding packages! most of them have gotten back to me with a lot of information :)

mandarin oriental was on the top of my list in the beginning but I don't think I'll consider them anymore... one of the major reasons why we chose to get married in vegas is because I would like to take the easy way out and would prefer not to go through the "traditional" way of wedding planning. I like how most hotels offer many all inclusive packages so I can just pick and customize a little :) mandarin oriental doesn't have any packages like that :\ they just have a list of preferred vendors.
Our wedding day also marks our 11th anniversary of being together :)

  • I'm a 2014 Vegas bride and this is my first post as well!! And OMG girls....after reading all of your posts...I feel waaayyy behind! I mean...we're set on April 26th and I'm leaning towards Chapel of the Flowers...but that's about it lol. NOTHING has been booked. I felt silly contacting different vendors because it's still over a year away but I should really get on it. I guess I have some work to do!

  • Hi, I am getting married may 3, 2014. We are on the ball and got some checks done. Venue ceremony and reception Sienna golf club menu finalized linens and colors selected flowers selected DJ the music solution Photography Bently Wilson I start wedding dress shopping this week. :

  • Even if you don't want to book anything yet, I don't think it hurts to look and compare. I emailed some vendors a little over a year and a half away just asking general questions, pricing, etc. so I knew whether to even consider them. I would keep a list of the vendors I was interested in and as I found others, I'd adjust the list if some weren't as accommodating to what I wanted, more expensive, etc. That way when the vendor can start booking your date a year to year and a half out, I could book the vendors that I thought were higher demand and might get snatched up right away. I'm just an over planner like that...
  • April 6 bride here! I just started looking at everything, but am leaning towards Mandalay Bay for the ceremony- the reception is where I am running into issues as we have 60-70 people on the tentative guest list, yet my favorite place (Wicked Spoon) says the can only accomodate 60...CRAP!- I dont want to book and then have more than 60 and say, well guess you cant come to dinner, see you later...How does anyone ever figure this stuff out for a destination wedding?!

  • This is awesome!

Thanks so much ladies for sharing the information... I'm so inspired (and jealous) that many of you are far along in the planning process. My fiance and I are heading out to Vegas in 2 weeks to plan everything... I'm so excited!!

I think the date will be mid-may or early june in 2014. Feel free to keep this thread going as you discover things or work with vendors!

<div>It is a bit tough... we know how many people we're inviting, but it's a total crapshoot in terms of who will actually come. I'm sure it'll all workout though. I keep telling myself that people get married all the time, so I don't need to reinvent the wheel. Just choose what we like and go from there.</div><div>

  • I've just about gathered all the information (that I think I need) about ceremony and reception!
For the ceremony we've narrowed it down to Caesars' classico chapel, cosmo's point loma, mandalay bay's platinum chapel, paris's chapelle du paradis, venetian's chapel, or wynn's chapel. still a long list! yes.. but we'll be making a trip to vegas in May to scout!
For the reception we've decided to just host a simple buffet dinner without the dancing and all that. :p our choices right now are wicked spoon, bacchanal, wynn's buffet and maybe mandalay bay's (it's the least pricy! $30pp with unlimited house wine and beer!) I've never eaten there.. will probably try it out during our trip too!
