BM Dresses Question

Ok, so I'm getting married in six months and still have not picked bridesmaid dresses.  This is horrible, I know.

I decided David's Bridal because my bridesmaids are all over.  I know the color and fabric, but now I am debating on the style.  To help move the process along, I considered letting the girls pick their own style (as long as it matches color/fabric/length).  Is that risky?  What if four of them pick one style, and the other two are totally different?  Does anyone really care?!  argghhh.

How did you handle pick-your-own-style bridesmaid dresses?

Re: BM Dresses Question

  • Don't stress over it. If you're ordering through DB, then 6 months is PLENTY of time. BM dresses often come in weeks from them. If you are into the whole uniformity thing, then you may want to pick a dress that would look good on all. If you're more like me, then you'll let them pick whatever. Who cares if >1 has the same dress? Everyone will know they're the BMs, no matter what they wear. Their bouquets and position during the ceremony kind of give it away.

Don't let it bother you. Wedding planning should be fun! (although I admit to often getting stressed...)
  • I did the same thing with mine I let them all choose the style.  If 2 chose the same style I would have not cared.  So far 5 out of the 6 are all different.

  • I let my girls pick their own, but out of 8 that I picked out first.  This way they had plenty of different styles to choose from, but I made sure they all would work together first.
