Do you think if someone has a Jesus fish on their car they are immediately a nutjob?

I saw a car once that had a whole school of them and thought they were crazy.
Just one though, no I wouldn't automatically assume crazyness.

  • pretty much, but i feel the same way about most bumper stickers, especially political and religious ones.  i got so upset by a bumper sticker once i actually spit on the car.  irrational, yet very satisfying.

  • What if it is a specific denomination Jesus fish?  I saw a Jesus fish today with a px in it, which is a Catholic thing.  If there was a Catholic Jesus fish on a car would you assume they are a nutter?

  • no, i don't think they're nut jobs.
  • I think anyone who puts a bumper sticker on is silly for devaluing their car. My  husband has one though (of his country) and yes, I think it's dumb.

As for religious ones in particular.. they are 5% worse, but that's not a big difference.
  • No - they're free to express their opinion/beliefs.  It is fun to see the looks that they give me when they read my bumper stickers though.

    My favorite:

  • Nah, they can do what they want. I like the ones with legs, though.

My newest one says "Put the fun between your legs". Its a slogan for a cycling law advocacy group. I have one for my car and one for my helmet.

Ah yes, Indiana at it's best. Perhaps my favorite is the ongoing war between the "My Man Mitch" and "Ditch Mitch" stickers.

ETA: To answer original question, no. But if they have bumper nuts, then I judge the hell out of them. Testicles are kinda gross looking anyway, I don't want to see them swinging from your car.
  • I  think it's funny when a person cuts you off or flips you off and then you see the Jesus fish. I just always think, "Yeah I bet Jesus wants that kind of advertisement."

But no, I don't assume they are all crazy just for having the fish. I thought the Darwin fish were pretty funny when they first came out but I am over them too.
  • I don't typically judge people based on bumper stickers, unless it's a judgey bumper sticker (like the pro-life and pro-choice ones that just slam the other side).  Why would you think someone is a nut job for having a belief?  Does their Jesus Fish hurt you in some way?

I suppose I'm leery because most of the people I've met with Jesus fish have been pushy with religion.   H in particular doesn't do well with it, and some new acquaintances of ours have a Jesus fish and he got concerned, so I thought I'd ask if it was a general consensus.

I think it's ridiculous to stand by a sweeping negative generalization by saying "Well, that's all I know."  How is it any different than saying "I'm scared of him because of the color of his skin.  People of the same color have been mean to me before, so he must mean me harm"?

  • I tend to think that folks who wear their religious stances on their bumpers, whether it's a jesus fish or an atheist sticker, are probably not people I would like very much.

I worship at the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster

  • I don't mind fish so much, those are small and subtle.  However, I hate the prolife ones.  Hell, I'm Catholic and they get on my nerves!

  • Night-- I tend to agree with you. The people who have those kind of fish on their bumpers are typically proud of their religious beliefs, and since I'm leery of people who are overly religious, I would assume I wouldn't get along with them.

I wouldn't say they are "nutjobs" but, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt unless they start pushing their religious beliefs on me. Then I'm outtie.

I wasn't trying to give a sweeping generalization.  I don't dislike religious people by nature.  I just find pushy religious people offputting.  Perhaps nutjob was too strong a phrase.

Hahahahaha...I hate truck balls.  I want to make big plastic vaginas and keep them in my trunk so everytime I see a truck with balls in a parking lot I can switch it!  I picture them driving a pussymobile and laugh and laugh and laugh!

OP...I work for a Jewish agency.  I've had a lot of people try to scam us for financial help and I have been able to call them out as scammers by their Jesus fish.  Stupidest response I got was "Well, Jesus was a Jew."  Retards.

  • Everyone who gets upset about the anti-Obama bumper stickers amuses me.  Of course I belong to the facebook group I hate when I wake up in the morning and Obama is still president.  It's called freedom of speech and they are allowed to hold and express different political views than you and you are allowed to get upset by them, but it won't accomplish anything.

Fish on cars don't bother me.  They might not even have been the person who put it on the car, like if they bought it used.
