for anyone going to europe- or anyone who might be taking connecting flights in europe:

there have been a bunch of flights to the EU that have been plain canceled (ie: not delayed) because of the ash. make sure you have travel insurance for your honeymoons, so you don't have to eat the entire cost! i think Travel Insurance can run as low as $50.

    Question - what do you know about travel insurance. The brief googleing I've done everything requires purchase near the initial booking - which in my case was months ago.

    yea i dont know enough about it to give you any real info, but i know it exists. 

    i'd try to get a hold of mcvay (maybe page her on the nest). she does TA stuff i think, or has at some point so she could give you some better answers and maybe some options.

    Thanks! I'll try getting in touch with her.

    I'm really hoping the prediction comes true about the weather helping break it up in the next few days. But that only help if it stops erupting!

    It seems like our airline is allowing cancellations without penalty, which was our biggest expense, but I'm going to be really bummed if we have to cancel.
