FYI:Reply to Sarah + A great way to save $$$ at your wedding reception!

I will start over. I seriously wrote out the perfect post, and my computer froze right before sending  it off. So here goes again...
Sarah, I am not looking to stir up drama here with you or anyone else. I understand your concerns and frustrations, but your assumption in thinking the last posting was my MOH/DOC in response to the venue suggestion at Zilker Club House, was incorrect. That was all me. My friend (who promised to stay out of these forums, is a woman of her word, she realized she was causing more harm and tension than help), recommended great advice to me that I would like to pass along to anyone on a serious budget...
I am a real person who lives in this city and gives in this city as much as I can. I came here because I desired a sense of community, a place I could vent to  where others would understand me. As well as rave to, in expressing my concerns while offering advice and appreciating some in return. I am a budget bride, going to school and left a few days ago to visit my fiance in California, who I haven't seen in over 7 months! My mistake was to allow another person besides myself, log in under my name. Many here believe she was using my ID to promote her business, but in reality we were highly mistaken in thinking that if we allowed her to offer free help to anyone who needed it, while getting what we needed in exchange for my wedding, there was no harm in that.  Most likely anyone claiming to be a professional, wants to be able to prove documentation that she wasn't just some random chick off the street... for those who were hesitant to her free help.
So me forgetting about the no advertising rule (because it didn't cross my mind that that was exactly what I was unintentionally doing), thought if women here saw that there was legitimacy behind help being offered to those who seek it, we would be taken more seriously, in you all knowing that her name and reputation were at stake. My MOH is not selfish, she's busted her butt every day since she saw my engagement ring. I am well taken care of, because I have a wonderful person I can count on. I am lucky considering the frequent horror stories I have heard of MOH's not being there as they promised in the beginning!
Back to my point. She suggested I reach out to other brides to be online and barter help at each other's wedding. This idea was perfect as it has saved the me and the other bride, who is having her wedding at Zilker Club House on July 30th, several hundred dollars.
So when I said that I was working with a budget bride, I am, we are working together. And it has been delightful doing so.
I am bringing my bridesmaids to help service her wedding. I will prepare the venue by decorating and moving around chairs from the ceremony to the reception hall. A friend of mine, who is insured and licensed, will bartend. While my other friends will bus tables and clean up and break down the decor and props at the end of the night. THEN when my wedding day comes along, she will do the same for me. We have even written out a mutual agreement to honor our word. Which I highly suggest to anyone interested in trading help with others.
And that's why I am here, to primarily help anyone when they need it most. Because many of you have been here for me, and I will continue passing this love and generosity forward, to who ever will take it.
Thanks for your eyes and ears. Cool

Your welcome. Any time Sarah, I am glad we are all on the same page now.  And hope that this suggestion is considered by many. You can't imagine how much stress has been lifted off of my shoulders in meeting great gals here who need help and are willing to help others at weddings. Which is fun and exciting to visit other venues as you can learn a lot about what you really want at your own.

Ah, it's so refreshing to come in here now that things have been explained, even if I have to write a novel to do so. Sorry.... I know it's a tad bit of a head ache to wake up to blah blah blah blah blah..... But, I just get so dang excited about the whole planning process.

    ON A BRIGHTER NOTE:
GOOD MORNING! I hope we all stay on track with our wedding tasks and continue to reach each other for help and support. Today I am going to spend hours on www.orientaltrading.com and find cheap finds on all my Hollywood Glamor themed props. And this site is amazing for anything you think is too hard to find in the city.

So I am thinking I am going to do a red carpet photo booth, with a red velvet rope. Have friends reaching out to my husband and I as we walk down the red carpet, screaming as if we were celebrities, with Oscar trophies in our hands!

The backdrop will be a bed sheet, painted with the Hollywood hills in the background and "Vanessa and Josh" replacing the Hollywood sign.

My photographer is sooooo much fun to work with! I am so excited for this day to reach, but sooooo unprepared! I am still looking for used linens if anyone has any available. Let me know what you need as I recently got 4 boxes full of great things donated to me by a former Austin Knottie.

Susan, you are a wonderful lady and I look forward to working with you more.
