Has anyone thought about hiring security or a doorman for your reception?

I know it might sound silly, but we're having our reception in the lobby of the Contemporary Arts Center downtown. The walls are glass, so I keep imagining people walking down the street seeing a party going on inside the CAC and coming in. Should we hire some kind of doorman? Another option would be to only have a cocktail hour in the lobby, and move the reception to the more private performance space.

Thanks for your suggestions!

We are having our ceremony/reception in the CAC lobby also.  There are so many private events going on there all the time, that I highly doubt people would just walk in when they can clearly see it's a wedding/private function.

My fiance and I have seen at least 5-6 events going on there and I've never seen an issue.  So I guess you can tell by my answer that we aren't hiring a doorman - LOL.

Lucky us, that some of fi's fraternity brothers are Cincinnati Police Officers, so anyone get out of hand....CPD will be there!

I have been to non wedding events there and I can say it does happen when people wander in. If you are concerned, talk to the CAC to see who they recommend. We hired someone for an event I was part of just to be a face at the door, they werent dressed like security, but they werent part of the party either. It was nice just to have someone there.
