Wedding bands

Has anyone chosen to get two wedding bands (one on either side of engagement ring), rather than stick with the traditional one band and one E. ring?  We are trying to decide which route we are going to take.  A lot of sets lack symmetry when it is just one wedding band on the side of the other ring.  I know it will literally doube the cost of the wedding band to have two, so I'm not sure what we will end up with.

Anyone choose one way over the other? What do you prefer and why?

Re: Wedding bands

  • I just have one wedding band, but a friend of mine has one on each side and it looks beautiful.  Wedding bands do not fit up against my engagement ring perfectly, which is fine if there is just one but it looks odd with two.  Her rings fit next to her engagment ring so it looks great!  I would say if you do this go with a very thin band on either side instead of two big ones.
  • I agree. My wedding band does not set into my engagment ring so there is a space between the wedding and engagement bands. I love the look of three rings, but for mine, it would look odd to have another band added on the opposite side. If you do go with the 3 bands, I think they look best when they fit together.
  • I chose to go the double band route. Really happy with the decision!

  • I'm going with 1 band for right now.  My e-ring is dangerously similar to the PIP above and my band fits right up against it.  FI and I have discussed a second band for an anniversary or something in the future...It all depends on what you like.  When we went to try on bands, it was like trying on dresses and we both found "the one." :)
  • i am getting 2 bands. they fit with my e ring perfectly because they are made by the same company. because of the bend in the wedding band, it looked kind of funny just having one. they are thin bands so its not overwhelming since i have shorter fingers.
