Need help picking sizes for my bridesmaid robes

I want to order matching robes for me and bridesmaids to wear in the bridal loft while we're getting ready. I considered Plum Sugar robes, which have been all over the wedding blogs for the last year, but I read some negative reviews about them and decided not to go with them.

I found some robes at Pottery Barn that I like a lot and was able to cash in Marriott rewards for a gift card that will cover most of the cost (payoff for so many nights in hotels on business trips!). The only problem is that the robe comes in two sizes: XS/S and M/L.

-I have 1 bridesmaid who wears a J. Crew size 6.
-I have 2 bridesmaids who wear a J. Crew size 8, but one might be TTC.

I'm terrible with sizing. Would people who wear a size 6 or 8 dress be a small or a medium? I don't want to offend anyone!!!

I would get 1 XS/S and 2 M/L. Or you could always ask them what they would like ... unless this is a surprise.

I guess. I know that dress sizes run larger. You could always just get all M/L just to keep it safe.

Is there a sizing chart on the web site? You could always just order all m/l. Nothing is wrong with a robe being a little big

I would order them all M/L. If they were XS, S, M, L, I would say one small and 2 medium. Too big is way better than too small. I'm sure they don't want stuff peeking out!!

For the size 8 I would get the M/L, but the size 6 is tough. Since robes tend to be flowy, I think a XS/S would be fine, but I'm not sure. It's the XS part of the sizing that makes me think it might be on the smaller side of a regular size small, which makes me a bit hesitant.

I read that too, Jeannine! I was thinking about getting them for my girls too, but $65 x 7 is a lot of money for robes. I think I would get the xs/s for the size 6 girl and the m/l for the size 8.

It depends if they're a petite 6. I'm a 4 and have a very small chest, so i would opt for a small size. If they're more busty you may want to get a larger size. Are they more petite or bustier? I think that makes the biggest difference when dealing with purchasing robes because they always seem to run a little on the big size. I think the 8 would get away with wearing a small if she is a lean size 8.

I'm a size 6 and in most things I'm a small.. but if I saw a sizing of XS/S or M/L, I would order the M/L. The "xs" would make me nervous.
