I'm bored, so here's some 'would you rather' questions...
If you lost a limb, would you rather lose an arm or a leg?

We've talked about this and how we would rather save a child from starvation and poverty than create multiples on purpose (denying God's natural intentions).

Hmmm...I think I'd like to have the chance to live. I will be pissed if the world ends this year though because then all of this school would be for nothing!

I would probably choose adoption in a normal situation but since both adoption and IVF are expensive if I would be gaurenteed a multiple birth becuase BF and I want more than one child I'd go with conceiving a biological child via IVF and guarenteed a multiple birth.

Quick and painless, like ripping a bandaid off...okay that can hurt but only for a millisecond.

Hmmm, never really thought about it. I think annual payments would be pretty sweet...but I know that both my BF and Dad would say your just letting them hang onto your money interest free, so I'd probably take it all and find wise investments for a large portion.

100. It is 20 here today and feels like 11 with the wind chill and even though it is bring and sunny I am freezing. I went to the grocery and had a close spot and my hands were numb still...and I had gloves on, just not the bulky ones that I hate.

Tough call, but I don't think I'd ever do IVF, even with a guarantee. I have always said I'd be open to adopting, BF and I have discussed that as our back up plan.

Depending on the number of other survivors, and assuming that H was with me, I'd like the chance to live. But if H died, and people were few and far between, I don't know that I'd want to survive the initial catastrophe.

H and I already discussed that if we couldn't conceive, we won't even attempt any fertility treatements, but would proceed with adoption.

Initial Catastrophe - I don't do well with suffering/pain
Annual payments - This way I'm guaranteed that I can't blow it all at once.
Strangers - then I never have to see them again.
100 degrees - Sounds like summer in Phoenix.
IVF - multiples are fine with me since I'm only planning on one pregnancy right now.
Fly - I really don't want to hear what people are thinking all the time

Ugh to both, but I think I'd go with the heat, as long as I have good A/C. And I'd prefer dry heat to humid heat.

Wow, I didn't know that. Do you have a prosthetic? I thought of this question because H and I watched Soul Surfer this weekend and started discussing it (he'd rather lose his arm, which I found surprising especially considering all the things he already can't do because of his dislocation).
I'd rather die quickly.
I'd want which ever way ended up being more money.
I'd rather be naked in front of strangers.
I guess never below 100. I could be in the pool or in air conditioning. I hate being cold!

I think I would rather adopt, but that may be because I already have children and I know there are so many kids out there without homes that I'd feel selfish bringing more children in to the world without helping the ones that are already here.

Yes, I have a C-Leg, it's a microprocessor knee and it is AWESOME. I can do pretty much anything I set my mind to... the hard part is convincing my mind! There are some things I don't do, but that's mostly out of nerves or fear. It took me forever to get back on a bicycle because I was afraid of falling on my head or something. Once I got back on I realized it was no big deal.
It took me awhile to get over the appearance part... when I was in high school I had a cosmetic cover that looked pretty much like a real leg. Once I got a C-leg I decided to not do covers anymore, and I still wear shorts and dresses. I get some funny looks and funny comments and questions from little kids (a little boy thought I was a robot!) but I don't care anymore. Took me awhile to get to that point though... once again, all in the mind!
As long as I could wear some prosthesis that allowed me to walk.

I like hot weather, but I couldn't stand over 100 every single day.

A leg. And then I would get a prosthetic. I'm sure neither would be easy but I couldn't use my hand for a few months earlier this year and that was miserable. Plus, it'd be really hard to take pictures with my DSLR without both arms & hands!! Or fly an airplane. I'm thinking I could still fly with just one leg. Maybe. Or maybe not.

I had bone cancer when I was 13 and had my right leg amputated above the knee. Now I'm 25 and this August I hit 10 years remission so I have a feeling this will be a good year!
I haven't really talked about it on the boards (just in passing here and there, I have mentioned it <em>maybe</em> once or twice). I had a bit of an epiphany at the end of 2011 where I realized I need to start writing my story down... something I'd thought about for years but never got around to. So I bought a notebook and started writing. Hopefully I keep it up!

Thanks for sharing your story, when I read the original question I remembered that you were an amputee, but figured I'd let you announce it as it was posted nonchalantly in a post a while back. I hope that you and your family are planning a big party to celebrate 10 years of remission, because that is a HUGE milestone!
I absolutely love hearing success stories about people who won the battle against a childhood cancer. I lost my only sibling to childhood cancer and I raise money every year for pediatric cancer research in her memory to help prevent others from losing their loved ones.
