We started exploring registry stuff! We went to check out BB&B, Pottery Barn, Macy's and Target (just looking). I don't think we'll do Target.

He has officially asked his GM, and I decided how I'm going to ask my BMs. I found these big oversized Hershey's kisses and I'm going to print out "Will you be my BM" and cut them and have them coming out like the Hershey's kisses tail thing. I'm going to mail them all and have them open them on V-day.

Watched the last Conan show, watch Quantum of Solace and we reserved our rehearsal dinner place.

    Good morning!

Katanne- registry exploring sounds awesome.  Why not Target though?

My weekend was alright.  We didn't really do anything.  Although in some WR news, my mom got the venue information and pictures that I sent to her and she loved it.  We just need to get a little more information from FI's dad (he's visiting on Wednesday) and then I think we'll be ready to pick a date and put down a deposit.

Ana - that's really exciting! What kind of venue are you leaning towards? Around here we don't have a lot of choices - hotels, legions, yacht clubs are about it...haha

We watched the Saints, going to the superbowl (FI family is from LA, so they were all really excited)! Now I have to get a digital HD box thing for my fancy TV, great FI add something else to my list of stuff I need to do. We also got a budget totally hammered out and started making appts for venues. Again, this is the not fun portion of planning. Luckily, I can assign him stuff that I don't want to do and he does a great job of getting it done.

Oh, and we played chicken foot on friday.

katanne - smart choice on Target. We were originally thinking of registering at Target, but then heard horror stories from other friends who registered there, namely a) their inventory turns over so much that you basically have to redo your registery every couple months, and b) they forget to take items off your list a lot of times, so you end up with duplicate gifts.

We're thinking we're going to do BB&B (they have nearly everythign we're going to want/need) and either Kohls or Macys. I hear Macys gives you a bunch of freebees for registering with them...rickylee could tell you all about it, she's the one that told me. :)

Agreed. We weren't going to, and then we really wanted to register for camping stuff so we went to look at it. While i LOVE to SHOP there, it's not a great registry place. I've hard lots of people complain about their return policy. Their stock is inconsistent, and when things go on sale they aren't taken off your registry yada yada.... I've heard a lot of bad registry stories about Target. It's too bad.

We will do Macy's (excellent reward program), and BB&B (for appliance etc.) and also Pottery Barn for a few home things.

Yeah I've heard horror stories about target but learned that it is partially guests fault for not taking your registry to the cahsier. Oh well it is still frustrating all the same.

We're Pottery Barn, BB&B and Target.  So far I haven't had any issues with Target.  Everything we registered for back in November is still available.  We really just kept them for fun stuff (games, etc.) and sheets/towels (BB&B and Pottery Barn are too expensive, even for someone else to buy for us...I couldn't stomach it), and bathroom stuff.  I couldn't find any patterns I really liked at the other places, but I found two I loved at Target, and FI didn't care so we registered for them.

I heard on the Registering board that Target recently overhauled their entire exchange policy because so many people were complaining.  I read through it, and it seemed pretty standard compared to BB&B and Pottery Barn.  They all looked basically the same to me.  BB&B is the only one of the three that offered registry incentives though, and I still haven't received ANY of them.  I'm wondering if we have to go to the store to collect them, or if it just takes a REALLY long time, or if they don't send them until after the wedding.  Some of them were JUST for registering for certain things, not having them bought off your registry.

Oh, and back to Paige's OP:

The weekend was great!  On Friday we had e-pics taken, and we should get them back in 2-3 weeks.  After pictures, I went and tried on bridesmaid dresses for a friend's wedding, then FI and I went to Men's Wearhouse and picked out tuxes for our wedding.

Saturday I went to work (to make up for taking off on Friday for the e-pics) and FI and his dad tore apart the wall where our leak had been to survey the damage.  GREAT NEWS!  It's not nearly as bad as we had feared!  We let it all dry out for a night with a fan blowing on it, then FI and his dad put up a new wall the next day.  All we had to replace was like $75 in wall and nails, no insulation, and no framing.  And FI's dad wired two extra outlets in the new wall for us as well, so that's awesome.  All we have to do is paint it.  :-)  SO HAPPY.  Now we may actually have some money to go on a HM after all, since replacing the wall didn't eat it all up!

So yea, Sunday FI put up the wall with his dad, and I hung out with our godson and his mom while the dad had an interview with a local company.  If he gets it, our godchildren will be living less than 10 minutes from us, as opposed to 4 hours!  All in all, a pretty spectacular weekend.

Oh, and I made some headway on our invitations.  Hopefully they'll be done next month.  :-)

Being pregnant put a cramp on my weekend.  :(
We met up with a friend from SD on Friday night.  It was great to see her but I was wiped out by 930.

Saturday night, we had the big annual crab feed.  His dad throws a pre and post-party.  Our group filled up a whole 24 person table.  I got through the crab feed, but faded by 930 again.  Luckily, my SIL and I were able to bow out together, leaving our husbands to party away.

Sunday, we had brunch at my MILs, since SIL and BIL stayed there.  We brought Klaus to meet our nephew.  We all knew he would be excited, but it was even more than any of us expected. He kept asking to go outside to play with him.  When he couldn't see him from the window, he would say "Puppy, where are you?"  So freaking adorable.  Outside, he would just run and shriek while Klaus followed at his heels.  Unfortunately, we couldn't stay long because the eggs did not sit well.

So very ready for Wednesday.  I have an OB appt and we may hear the heartbeat!!!

We registered at Target.  Yes, it turns over quickly.  However, it was the biggest store that was close to most of our wedding guests.  I did not have any trouble returning duplicates.

The weekend was busy , work was keeping me hopping all day and night which is a good thing , as i start looking for a second job this week to put that money aside structly for the wedding. Currently am cooking beef stew all day for FI when he comes home , doing laundry and clenaing house , nothign exciting , lol.
Did get a text from my MOH that she is back in the hospital again with a clot in her liver..sigh. Her boyfriend is semi mia again , and she's all freaking out and here we go again is all i can think of..god i hope i'm wrong, i need less drama in my life right now.

As far as registries go - We will be doing JcPenny ( since i work there) , Kohls or Bed Bath and Beyond. Possibly Pottery Barn but we have awhile to decide :) As for Target i have heard good and bad with it all , it seems to depend which one you deal with..so could be a crapshoot. Hope everyone has a great monday.

    That's super cute! hehe

Good luck at the OB's - it'll be so exciting to hear your baby's heartbeat! I went with one of my bff's when she was expecting last year and we got to hear her daughter's heartbeat.  It was really unbelievable...and really exciting!

Hi ladies! katanne9, one of my friends just registered at Macy's. She told me that the salesguy said you can return duplicate gifts there, even if your guests didn't buy the gifts there. I'm really not sure how reliable that info is, but that's what she was told! :)

Also... my weekend was great! I got to see some of my family from out of state and watched It's Complicated with the some friends. Funny movie!
