Hi- need some help

Hi- My name is Taryn and I am getting married on July 30, 2011 in Stillwater.   I just wanted to introduce myself to the board and I am needing some help.  I am getting married at the Washington County Courthouse in Stillwater with a reception at Afton Alps Ski Resort, and the next item on my list to do is the photographer.  I have a budget of about $2,000 and I was hoping to get some recomendations from you ladies on some good ones.  So far I like Barclay Horner, but he said he may be out of the country then, and so other I like are Alex del Toro and Agape Moments.  I am also planning on going to the Wedding Fair on March 28th to check some more out.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome welcome! First of, congrats! Secondly, I LOVE your monogram thingy in your sig, did you make it?
As for photogs, definitely check out Laura Ivanova. She is awesome!! She is shooting our wedding in July and I never get tired of going through her galleries or her blog!

Thanks, I did make my monogram.  The easiest way to do it is power point.  I downloaded my font from, i think it was dafont.com.  Power point is easier to use because the letters move around more easily.

Does Render include the print-rights to your photos?

Yes it does. She offers the rights to your wedding images with her package and then if you decide to do an engagement shoot, if you purchase the DVD-R of the engagement pictures that gives you the rights to all those pictures.

I second Render. My wedding is in 17 days so you'll be able to see more pics of her style and skill after that. She's just getting out on her own so her portfolio is a little smaller, but she has been in the business for awhile working with another photographer. I can't imagine what her prices will be after this season.

Captured Images by Cherise!! Very friendly and professional!! FI is friends with the family very nice! if you google capturedimagesbycherise you can see her wedding gallery and she has three different packages for weddings and two of them would be in your budget! They are very good deals in my opinion! Good luck!

We used John Sharpe Photography and really loved the results.

He does different packages at different price points.  We ended up spending between 2,000 and 3,000, our original budget was $2,000... We wanted him to stay until midnight because it was a new years eve wedding so we ended up paying more.

He just posted our photos on his blog yesterday here is the link.  He did our engagement pics too.  We loved them.

We are having Candace Coughlin she did our engagement session...which is free when you choose a wedding package. She has lots of optionsfor packages and she includes FULL printing rights to all of your photos....so you can just pay her for your time and the cd of pictures (fully edited)  if you like....which is awesome!

She is a hoot and a half AND just was selected by Bride's Choice Awards for Photography (meaning she is in the top 5% nationwide).

She is also on facebook under Candy's Photography!

She always shoots with another photographer so you get double the angles.

Her website shows some of her work, but if you click on her blog you will see tons of great pictures from her more recent weddings/engagement shoots.

    Good luck!!!

I quadruple Britt @ Render! She rocks. And rolls. and her prices will go up quickly so could be a great way to save some $ without sacrificing serious style and talent.

I can't wait to see Alayna's pics next month!

We are using Jessica Smith Photography.  She is amazing or should I say AMAZING!  And she is flexible with price as we wanted more hours but not a photo-book so she gave us a good price.  She is very talented and our epics were so beautiful.  Fun to work with and very into listening to us and what we wanted.  She includes all digitals and will put them on a CD for you.

    Here's her website: http://www.jessicasmithweddings.com/index2.php
    Good Luck and welcome!
