Babysitting Ideas?

So I keep turning to this board since I have gotten great tips!  I have a few out of town guests asking about childcare at their hotels the night of the wedding.  Anyone have any suggestions?

i am having an older niece watch the children at our house. the reception venue is less than 3 miles from our house. we are going to order pizza and have video games for them to play. If you have an older cousin (teenager) that wouldn't mind i would maybe try that first..........

I think in the age of liability and lawsuits I would be more comfortable suggesting licensed and bonded pros with first aid training, if anything at all. From allergies to accidents, there is so much unexpected that I wouldn't want to be liable for directly or indirectly. Maybe it's the New Yorker in me :-) but I'm giving my guests no recs for child care takers, just in case anything goes wrong. At first though, our coordinator did suggest RNs who do temp assignments for events like weddings-- I think she said the rate was about $25/for unto 3 kids at a time. That might be a way to go.

I agree about using a professional company.  We referred people to a company called Dependable Kid Care which I think turned out ok - apparently it is the company which the Ritz uses for the childcare they offer to their guests.
