One Pillow? Um, thank you?

Hey ladies I need help wording a thank you card for ONE PILLOW please.  Allow me to elaborate.  I registered for more than one pillow, of course, 2 pricey ones $70/each and 2 cheaper ones $40/each.  The ONE pillow (a $70 one) came from a very close friend of the family and his wife who I have known since I'm a baby and have always been so gracious to me as he had no kids of his own.  I'm not saying they had to buy the expensive one (I'm figuring the expensive stuff I'll be using combined gift cards for anyway), but to send just ONE pillow I don't know how to write a thank you note for that.  "Thank you so much for the lovely down pillow.  We look forward to sharing the corners for many years to come...."  LOL!  And yes, I stalk the registries and no, the other $70 pillow is still yet to be purchased.  So 1, I don't get it, I just don't and 2, how do i write a thank you card for this?  PLEASE HELP!  The wife is like UBER-critical so I want to get her thank you card out to her soon.

I would just write what you had posted before.

"Thank you so much for the lovely down pillow." and add maybe, "it will look great in our bedroom" or something similar or say how thoughtful it was.

It is strange that they would buy just one pillow. But that's one less you have to buy I guess :)

I think for one person a $70 pillow plus shipping is a fine present.  You should write a thankful note to this person thanking them for their generosity. I mean if they got you one pillow, they won't feel weird if you thank them for that.  I mean don't stress ONE pillow, but just that you are thankful.

I agree with pp. $70 plus shipping is plenty for one person.

I AM THANKFUL. I'm not saying its not enough.  I'm just saying its odd to only get the one.  They could easily have picked something less expensive that we could BOTH use.  I thought it kind of comical and was by no means ungrateful as perhaps its come off by your responses.  I genuinely just don't how I should phrase the thank you note b/c no matter how I try it sounds somewhat awkward.
