J Crew BM dress FREAK OUT!

Has anyone ordered their BM dresses from J Crew and had a problem with it? One of my bridesmaids got a call today that the dress she ordered 2 months ago (it said it was on backorder until May) was no longer available, then she called and they said they had one left. I still have 2 girls whose dresses are on back order. Has anyone else had this experience?

    i ordered my wedding dress and had some minor inconveniences with ordering a particular size and then them not having it right away, but when i called they said it is probably a safer bet for any formal wear stuff to just not even bother ordering if it has to go on back order because its "iffy" luckily everything worked out okay for me, but i can see how that might be worse for some people. for everything else they were pretty decent though, i did return and exchange the same dress like 4 times for sizes too.

    I ordered a BM dress for a wedding from JCrew.  It was backordered on the website and the date kept changing to later and later, so I freaked out a little.  But I called (or emailed? dont' remember) and they said that my order had been placed and I would receive the dress when they estimated on my receipt.  Sure enough, it came in right on time.

    If you are worried, I'd call.  If they took your order they should be able to fill it.  If not, that SUCKS!  The nice thing is though that you can return the dresses to any store, which saves you shipping.  I ordered 2 sizes and returned the one that didn't fit without a problem.

    I will say though, that I HATED the dress.  The fit was terrible.  I had hopes that it was a BM dress I could actually wear again, but alas, it was not.

    Wow this is so annoying. I have no idea about the ins and outs of how JC usually does stuff, but you would really think a big line like that would have their shiit more together than this!! ::hugs:: I hope it all works out.

    I hope it works out!  All my BMs got their dresses, with one exception.  They sent her the wrong color, but they are re-sending it by May. It's still on their website, so hoping it's not discontinued.  Now I'm nervous!

    So what do I do if 3 girls have no dress? 6 of the girls already have them. Damn you J Crew! I was having such a great experience with them until now.

    P.S. Thanks for the wellwishes :) I'm going to do my wedding day ear-workout now to blow off some steam (this entails putting on the heavier than I usually wear chandelier earrings and wiggling my head around).

    Hahahah.

    Do they still have the color and fabric?  Maybe get a different style dress that at least the material matches?

    Oh EKob... you are so rational :) That will work. I'm sure when I go into the store and have a meltdown, start crying, and 'accidentally' knock over one of their headless mannequins they will get on their little red phone and fix things somehow.

    Bah! I am shaking my first in the air to the J Crew gods. CURSES!

    Ah, J Crew and I have a love-hate relationship.  It's very unhealthy, come look at my closet.  But I would def either call the customer service, or go to the store at the Atrium.  Sometimes they can locate one for you.  Although I do like the look of mixed dresses, AND it would be 3 and 3...

    They are all wearing different dresses anyway (same color and fabric). I let them pick what looks best on them, but I guess what looks second best on them will be ok if this doesn't work out.

    I am currently having issues with JCrew regarding my BM dresses too! My sister got her's without difficulty but one of my BMs received her's in the WRONG color! She sent it back and found out the correct color is backordered until May. My other BM's dress was supposed to be backordered until today but she never got charged for it or got an email confirming it was shipped. She called and called today and couldn't really get through to anyone. One employee did say that there were a lot of backups this weekend and her dress was probably one of them. UGH! So stressful! My last BM sent me a message saying her dress arrived at her apartment today so I'm about to call her and make sure it was the correct style/color. This has added a lot of stress for me...I still have 2 girls who need their dresses and I hope it all works out soon! I thought JCrew would be a little bit more organized....I totally understand how everyone feels!

    Wow - I was thinking of jcrew for BM dresses because I love them so much but this is freaking me out.

    I was just reading my jcrew catalog last night and they have a person just for weddings, I just went on their website and it's listed as ashley@jcrew.com maybe you can try her to get it fixed??

    We had one get backordered, but it arrived in time for the wedding, so NBD. I agree with others about the fit problems--it seems like a lot of their stuff runs a size too big. Which is better than a size too small, but still.

    I agree with EKobs--they've got so many options, that if they can't find the dress you wanted, just pick a different one. Also, check Trash to Treasure and ebay. There are tons of J. Crew dresses floating around ebay.

    That's who I contacted to get info on my dress!  Wow, stinks that they are having so many issues!!  The other thing:  I think the store at the Chestnut Hill Mall (or Atrium mall?) now carries their bridal  line, so maybe you call them and see if they have the dresses you need!

    Sorry this happened to you. I had all 7 girls order their dresses from there, and had no problems whatsoever.
