I have been a memeber of theknot for somewhile now and have enjoyed reading and posting on the forums. I thought I should share my proposal with all you lovely ladies! So here it is:
Christmas 2011 was coming up and I kept trying to figure out if Jake was going to propose. We always talked about getting married in 2012 but around November of 2011, Jacob started talking about waiting to get married. I had had a feeling that maybe he was just trying to throw me off, but he seemed so set about it that I was very confused. I must mention here, my favorite animals are penguins and I have always wanted a build-a-bear.
So Christmas day 2011 comes and I get to my 3rd gift from Jake (which is my second to last one.) I open up the present and see a build-a-bear box. Immediatley my heart starts to race. He tells me to close my eyes an hand him the box, so I do. I feel him move a little and he places the build-a-bear in my hands with the button right in mine.
He then says to me "Ok, keep your eyes closed and push the button." I push the button and I hear my Jake's voice come out saying "I will love you forever and always, Teena Marie. Will you marry me?" I open my eyes and Jake is on one knee with the ring and in my hands is a penguin dressed in tuxedo so he looks like a groom. I cried and said yes and there were cheers from the family.
I thought that day couldn't get any better, but then I opened my last gift from Jake and it was another build-a-bear penguin. This one, though, was dressed as a bride. Needless to say, this was my best Christmas yet.
