Bridesmaid dresses

My wedding is 18 months away, so I know its really early to be considering dresses right now but there is a designer that is closing all its outlet stores next month and has dresses that are normally $300 for $20 on sale. My wedding is going to be black tie and the formal bridesmaid dresses i've been looking at are 150 plus

I figure 20 bucks plus possible alterations sure beats 150.

Should i ask my bridesmaids to spend the small amount now or the larger amount later.

Re: Bridesmaid dresses

  • It sound like a good deal especially if you know the style you want and can score them for $20.  But 18 months is a long time and thing may change with your BM's pregnancy, weight gain, loss etc and the dress the purchased my not be practical anymore.

So if you are willing to make concessions such as pregnant BM wear diff dress the $20 is not much to spend.
  • If you have already made your mind up about the dress colors/styles and can get them for so cheap, then it sounds like a good idea. But also remember a lot can happen in 18 months if someone gains/loses a lot of weight they will need to get the dresses altered when the wedding approaches and if they can't alter them to the correct size and the dress is discontinued they will need to buy all new dresses.

  • i have 9 bridesmaids and just recieved a coupon for buy 2 get 1 free. Almost seems like a sign! this will mean all dresses will be $120. i think its worth the risks. worst comes to worst they'll end up in consignment or on ebay.

Then definitely Go for It.  Great score!
  • I'd go ahead and buy them.  If people no longer fit into them, you can probably sell any you don't use for a nice profit.
This is a neglected planning bio.
This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284
  • i agree......go ahead and buy them........if anything they can be sold on ebay, or even made to be a cocktail dress (not for your wedding, but your girls can wear them for another occassion)

do they have any wedding dresses at this outlet?
