Favourite piece of jewellery besides your wedding set?
My half of my best friend necklace from when my BFF/MOH were in 6th grade. We both still have them.

Favourite detail of your wedding?
That's hard to say. There were so many. I loved our cake and cake toppers! I loved our programs and that we gave leis to everyone, too.

If time and money wasn't an option, what vacation would you take right now?
I'd like to travel to all of the Polynesian islands and to Thailand.

Any pets?
Yes. We have our Chihuahua, ChiChi and our huge 28 lb ginger cat, Cupcake. We have a little calico, too, but lost her right before we left for Maui.

How was your AHR?
It was good. Leading up to it I did not want to have it, but was glad I did on the day of. Lots of ppl came and it was a fun party.

How was the transformation from fiance to wife?!
Easy. It does feel different and it's nice. There's a new kind of commitment between the two of you.

Do you still go to hula class?
I don't. I just quit to have more time to focus on Arbonne.

Did you do the hula at all during your wedding moon?
Nope. I really suck at it.

Why is your name kimmy "kupcakes"?
My friends gave me that name for 2 reasons-
1. I make really good cupcakes and use to make them for everything.
2. I have really nice "cupcakes".

Thanks, Kathy. I wish! My natural hair color is Auburn. I add more cooper to it to make it POP!

How tall are you?
5'8

Do you live near Seattle?
I'm 3 hrs from Seattle. I have a ton of family that live there so we head up there a few times per year.

What are you most proud of your daughter for?

Her heart and how she stands up for what she believes in even when she gets teased for both. She's very sweet and isn't mean to anyone. She sticks up for the her classmates who gets teased and tells others it's not ok to use the word gay to say something is bad. She doesn'tdrink, do drugs or fool around. She's let friends know that when they have started doing any of these things that she can no longer be friends with them because of it and she doesn't want to be around it. No matter how much she gets teased for being a goody-two-shoes, she still sticks to her morals and doesn't give in to peer pressure.

What is your biggest accomplishment?
I got pregnant when I was 17 and had my daughter at 18. I put myself through college with a baby and became the first woman in my family to get a college degree. Teen mothers have less than a 1% chance of ever getting out of poverty. I'm really glad I overcame all of that and was able to give my daughter the life I'd always wished I had growing up.

OCD about anything?
Nope.

If you could be a fly on anyone's wall for a day, whose would it be and why?
I have no idea. I don't think I could give up a whole day to be a fly. I have way too much to do. HA!

What's your most irrational fear?
Bananas! I swear.

Who usually drives, you or your hubby?
My husband does. I'd rather work on other things while he drives.

Where can we see your wedding pics?
There's a few up on my blog, FB and a few on the planning site. I was waiting to share them with family before I shared them elsewhere. But, I don't have a strong desire to share them on-line. I guess you will have to come over to my house to see them.

What is your fav restaurant?
I have 4. Trader Vic's and iorio both in Portland. Mama's Fish House is my favorite in Hawaii and Nobo's is my favorite in NYC.

What is your hidden talent?
You don't want to know..... Let's just say my husband LOVES it.

Now that the wedding is over, are you working on any new projects?
I signed up to be an Arbonne consultant. It's my new project. I'm been working it as hard as possible to be successful at it. I want to get out of social work ASAP. Anyone interested in finding out more about Arbonne? The products are AMAZING!!!!! You should ask me questions about Arbonne. Yes, I am so soliciting. Bite me!

Is your MIL still crazy?
Oh, yeah. So much. My mom told her off at our AHR. I also told her to stop moving stuff around in our house at the AHR. Now that woman is OCD.

lol Are you on there? I actually have no idea who I follow, but I usually follow most ppl back who are following me. Are you following me?

Do you have a favorite kind of cupacake?
All of them! Except for chocolate. I don't like chocolate anything except for chocolate it's self.

Hell, yes! This election si so important! So many of our rights are at stack. Especially, as women.

Yup

Best Halloween costume you've ever had?
Oh, i've had a lot. I'm really big into Halloween. I was Kira from the Dark Crystal one year. And Rambo Brite another year. Combined Raibow Brite and Ramboo. Dre and I also have had lots of fun costumes together. Malice in Horrorland and the Insanely Mad Hatter. Little Dead Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf. Frankensein and Bride of Frankenstein.

What is your perfect date night?
Hmmm, that depends on the mood I'm in. But, always includes me not having to cook. Usually it's checking out somewhere we haven't been before or hanging out at one of our favorite tiki bars.

What is your favorite family past time?
Doing something Amanda wants to do. Whatever that happens to be at the moment. I also just like to hang out in our backyard together and enjoy a meal.

What is your favorite dinner recipe to make?
I really love to make kaluha pork! Or Korean spare ribs!

Yes, you can.

If people toast marshmallows over the campfire, how come no one ever toasts Peeps?
Because it's still pretty cold at Easter. However, next Easter I am going to set up a chocolate fondue station with peeps. Thanks for the idea!

If someone did toast a Peep, it that considered animal cruelty?
Hell no, it's considered yummy!

Why do you want to leave your job so bad?
I'm burnt out. I've been in social work for like 15 yrs in one form or another. Plus, since Amanda's turned 18 I am itching to travel and do all of the things that I didn't get to do because I had her young. I want to have a job that I can still do while seeing the world. I don't even have a passport and never have. It's time that I changed that!

(I'll bite) Can you give us more details on your new business?
YEAH! Yes! Arbonne is a highly regarded, premium brand with a Swiss heritage. The products, all made in the US, are healthy, botanically based and inspired by nature. Why do you fear bananas?
They are NASTY!!!!! They smell disgusting. I start gagging when I go somewhere and can smell ripe bananas. They taste horrible. And the texture oh, god the texture is like snot. Oh and when you eat one it looks like your are eating a penis. All of that makes for one scary fruit!

Have you ever done any direct sales before Arbonne?
I worked in retail when I was a teenager, That's the only sales I've done.

Do you scrapbook?
I use to. I have tons of supplies, but haven't in years. It's so much easier to make photo books.

Do you believe in ghosts?
YES! I've had a couple unexplainable things that have happened to me in my life. If they weren't ghosts they were something supernatural.

I don't know. He doesn't seem like he has a big celebrity crush on anyone. He's never said he would.

I have been there two times.

Nope, I was on the island both times. But, I'd like to visit the Bronx.

do you like sports?
I don't know. I don't follow any teams or anything. I don't want to play any sports. But, I might watch a game once in a while. It's not like I don't like them.

will you share pics of your tiki bar?
Yes, once it's all done. We still have some finishing work to do and art to frame and hang up. We are hoping to get it into Tiki Magazine.

If you could go back in time and change something about your life, what would it be?
Nothing. I am who I am and I am where I am because of all of those life experiences. As horrific as some of them where. they still shaped me.

What would a tourist do in your city? What sights are there to see?
Visit Voodoo Doughnuts and the food carts. Ppl come here just to do that. I think it's so crazy! They'd also visit Powell's Books, the world's largest independently owned bookstore, Multnomha Falls, the water front. Saturday Market and the Saturday Farmer's market. If they were my friends, I'd take them to Trader Vic's, Hale Pele and the Alibi.

What were you like in high school?
Pretty mixed up. I had a lot of sh1t going on and was working through all the crap that happened during my childhood. I worked at Contempo Casuals, did cheerleading and was in choir and drama. I was friends with lots of different ppl, but only reallly let a few ppl in. And even them, not completely. I would just do enough work to pass my classes and didn't really care about academics. When ever they would do all of the school testing, I would test off the charts and at college level. I'd drive my teachers and the school administration crazy though because I wouldn't "apply" myself, resused to take any AP classes and wouldn't turn in any of my homework. I went to class everyday and got good grades on my tests, what more did they want?

I've only ever seen one episode of any of those shows. Everyone on it was a hot mess. I think I was a lot more grown up then any of them and fully understood my responsibilities. I fully took care of my daughter and never stopped going to school. I got myself into that mess and never expected for anyone else, but me to clean it up.

when it comes to tiki, is there anyone you know who's got you beat in knowing all there is to know?
lol There are plenty of tiki 'experts". I know a lot, more than many, but I don't know everything.

i saw on your blog i think that your home is known as knotty cakes ranch...how'd this name come about?
Yes, it is called Knotty Cakes Ranch. We were trying to come up with a name for it and couldn't think of anything we both liked. We knew we wanted ranch in it since our home is a ranch style. We also knew we wanted Knotty in it since we live on Knott street and it makes it sound naughty. But, we couldn't decide on a third word and Knotty Ranch didn't sound right. Drew was with me while I was at the hair dresser and I was telling her about the house and trying to come up with a name. She suggested Cakes since ppl call me Kimmy Kupcakes. We both liked it and it's been Knotty Cakes Ranch ever since.

do you know any other languages besides english?
Nope. I know a very little Hawaiian and that's it.

what's the toughest part in restoring your home?
The mess. And the cost.

did you and drew do it all on your own did you have to hire contractors for some of it?
We've done everything ourselves. We've had some help on the yard from my mom and some friends though. They helped us lay some pathways and do some planting. I came up with the landscaping design and what plants and materials we would use.

If you had to lose one of your 5 senses, which would you pick and why?
I'm going to go with taste. Then I'd lose some weight. HA!

What was your favorite wedding present you got?
Cash? We didn't get a lot of wedding presents. Most of it was cash. Oh, we did get some gift certificates to a couple of our favorite places. That was cool.

Weirdest thing you got?
This is kind of a long story. Drew's gramma passed away almost 2 years ago. His family has been really weird about who gets what in her house even though none of his aunts, uncles or cousins really wanted anything. Drew asked about getting a couple things- A gravel art picture, a set of ceramic birds, a hanging lamp, 2 side tables and a coffe table. Again, no one else wanted these. After over a year, he was allowed to take the picture, ceramic birds and lamp. He was told he could not have the coffee table and side tables because they were going to sell them and split the profit between the aunts and uncles.

We couldn't believe this since no one wanted them and the profit they would make off of them wouldn't be very much. Especially when splitting it between 4 couples. Plus, wouldn't you want to keep something in the family over it going to strangers?

Finally they decided that Drew could have them if we bought them. I said no way. I thought it was really weird to try and make a profit off of his gramma passing away. This would never happen in my family.

After the AHR we find out that they've decided that we can have the coffee table and side tables as a wedding gift. They all came to our at home reception with all of their children and grandchildren without even giving us a card. Now we weren't expecting gifts, but I do think it's weird to go to someone's reception and not at the very least, bring a card. Or say congratulations.

So we find out these tables that no one wanted and no one said a single word about to us is supposed to be our gift. And we better go pick it up ASAP because if we don't they are getting rid of it. What? Is it just me? Or is this really weird?

Did you return anything?
I haven't yet, but there's a couple picture frames that I am planning on returning.

Do you hope your daughter has children some day so you can be a grandma (I'm not calling you old don't worry lol) or do you not care that much? (my mom is freaking about grandkids so it got me thinking)
I don't care if she does or not. I don't want to change any diapers. HA!

Do you have a favorite drink?
Painkillers and ChiChis. I also really like the signature drink I created for our wedding, HibisKiss.

Do you think you and your hubby will have more kids some day?

Hell, no!

What cities states/countries have you traveled to?
I've only been to the US and Canada. In Canada I went to BC. It the US I've been to Hawaii, California, Washington, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Idaho, Ohio, Colorado and New York.

What are your pet peeves?
Ppl who don't use their tun signals and smoking.

Are you a morning or night person?
I use to be a night person, but I just can't stay up late anymore. I wake up around 8 no later what time I go ot bed, too. It's so annoying. I wouldn't say I'm a morning person though because I'm still grumpy in the morning.

The Goodwill and other thrift stores. I swear!

Nope.

Nope. I have no commitment to this place. I have 1 plant, my drink cup and a few pictures I taped to the wall from the wedding. When I'm done with this place, I want to be able to grab all of my stuff and go.

Yup.

If you could cure one thing, what would it be?

Cancer

If you had 3 wishes (and couldn't wish for more wishes), what would they be?
To be debt free.

Travel the world.
And end hunger.

I love them all for different reasons. But, I'm always happiest in the sun.
