• to JNS121212-one of my favorite drinks is pink lemonade with raspberry vodka. Delicious and keeps with your color scheme. :)
• If I'm having royal blue as my main color, what sort of signature cocktail would be ideal to match? Something blueberry?
I think what we are going to end up doing is a Long Island Iced Tea, but because we are getting married in Mackinaw City we are going to call it a Mackinac Island Iced Tea. Cute I know :) Thanks for all your help!

<div>Thanks! We love it too. I think for sure the venue is our favorite part of our wedding, and the ceremony is going to have the Mackinaw Bridge in the background! So excited! </div>
• Email me about a signature cocktail menu if you are in the Dallas/fort worth area! My fiancé and I own a company for private bartending and cocktailing. We can specialize a menu with very little prep time that will wow you on your big day as well as your guest. Go beyond wine for your big day! Khhottails@live.com.
• I make mojitios all time time in the summer. we go out on the boat so the have to be easy. I muddle my fruit(s) and mint and pour my still warm simple syrup over the mint mixture. Put in refrig. for a coulpe of days, then strain the mint and berrys out.  I you want fresh berrys and mint add it when you make the drink.  Very fast and if someone doesn't want it with alcohol then they just add the syrup to a white soda. win win for everyone.
• Our drinks were the Blushing Bride & Golden Groom. The recipes can be found by Martha Stewart. Everyone loved them! Might want to look into those as your bartender can make large batches of them. We also bought pink sugar to go around the edge of the blushing bride martini glass.

• My fiance and I drink mostly Gin and Bourbon.  Our reception site includes the creation of a his/her signature cocktail but we can't think of anything more creative other than our usual Manhatten or Old Fashion and Gin and Tonic...

Anyone out there have any more intriguing ideas?? (No, Jack Daniels isn't bourbon so don't suggest it).

We're getting married right around Christmas but trying to avoid the Chrismas cliche
• I've been thinking about signature drinks as well. I'm thinking of having a tropical theme. But, I'm just not sure what to do for a drink.

•

I am doing a peacock tonic (like a gin and tonic but purple and then a blue

Hawaiian which is a blueberry lemonaide vodka drink :)

A wedding is a party, not a performance. If at the end of the day you are married to the one you love, then everything went perfectly.
• We are doing a vintage themed wedding and serving  A Tease and Squeeze Cocktail which is rasp liqueor, vodka and lemonade.......a whiskey sour with our own sour, and a cherry bomb nonalcoholic...sprite and grenadine. I purchased pint mason jars we drilled holes in lid...added a rubber grommet and will complete with a striped paper straw. our guests will be greeted with a cocktail of choice, and get to keep the glass. We are premixing the cocktails a few days before wedding and will refri. right in jars. They will be on ice in an old copper boiler, with ice available. Hope this works!
• Muddle Mint. hmmm, Maybe you could have the mint muddled in portions of ten and freeze it.  I freeze my herbs (mint included) and other then some blanching (the leaves look wet) it works well.  Can you make a mint sauce? get the flavor from that and add fresh mint for the look.
• You must have your signature cocktails because they say so much about you as a couple!

What a silly statement.  I never got the point of a "signature cocktail" unless it is offered as part of a full bar.  Otherwise, it says that the bride wants to drink the cocktail that SHE likes and the heck with the guests that don't like it.

• Signature cocktails are cute but I do agree with melissarand...most people already have their own drinks they want.. I dunno its cute but not neccesarry in my opinion.
My FI and I are going to have two signature cocktails served at the wedding, my problem is I really want mine to be a Strawberry Mojito but I'm worried about the bartender not haveing time to make it. Because to make an awesome one you have to muddle the mint, and I would hate to have a giant line at the bar because he is stuck muddling mint constantly. Has anyone else run into this problem when decided on signature cocktails?

<div>I recently went to a wedding where the signature cocktail was a passionfruit/lychee mojitio, and my sister solved this problem by making batches of it where the mint was already muddled.  The result was delicious, and by having the mojito premixed, the problem of made-to-order was solved.  I don't know if this helps, but I can definitely attest to the success of having the drink pre-mixed.</div>
• I dont like mojitos even though I love mint... I just dont think it would be a good idea...
We have having a bride and groom signature drink. Mine is the Aperol Spritz which we had all thoughout Venice and Tuscany region. It's Aperol bitter, orange juice, prosecco and some club soda. The grooms Signature drink is a dark and stormy which is a rum/orange juice cocktail that is popular in the caribbean.
Posted by busybride109
FYI, a Dark and Stormy, to my knowledge, is rum and ginger beer. . . . If you are adding orange juice to yours you might want to give a little description to guests so they aren't ordering it thinking they are getting one thing, and being handed something very different.
• I love the idea of his and her signature drinks!
• Im a bartender and either using miny simple syrup or mint infused rum will work just fine and taste great! Granted, when I make mojitos, I dont muddle anyway.  I just shake everything in a cocktail shaker (minus the soda water).  The ice breaks up the mint even better than a muddler and it saves you from doing an extra step.
• Our signature drink is Strawberry margarita. Tequila is my drink and our colors is red so it will go great.

• Our signiture drinks were a blue margarita and a chocolate martini!! They were chosen because our wedding colors were chocolate brown and turquoise! Not only did they look great but they tasted great as well!

• Signature drinks sound like fun! My colors are pink & gray but I'm not sure there are any drinks that incorporate those colors (ha-ha). I'm a wine drinker and my FI is a crown guy. I do love mojitos though. Oh, so many choices!!!

• We are doing Sangria so big pitchers can be made before hand, but I say if you want a mojito, then get a mojito.  Most people will order their usual drink of choice anyway, and I'm sure you're not the first one to ask for a mojito so they probably have a system for getting it done in a timely fashion.  I say go for it!!

• Trying to figure out how to post?
• <div>We're having the same kind of wedding....</div><div> I was thinking Don Q Rum and Coke.   Mojitos are delicious with that rum too.... but muddling the mint will take way too long than I want people waiting for drinks.   With the Italian side... I love Italian Margaritas.... so was thinking that might be a hit but I am a little weary about having Tequila there.   People will be crazy!</div><div>

• Have you spoken with the bartender/BM? I imagine they would be helpful in finding a solution.
