My first Luxury Weddings board question will be: "should I have spicy and/or mild BBQ buffalo wings on my buffett?" I wonder what kind of questions would be asked on there.

I just got here and didn't read through all the posts, except for the first page. Green tea is really good with a tiny bit of SF hazelnut syrup, if you're into artificial sweeteners.

And, I think longer hair is easier to maintain in IMO/experience. I cut my hair to chin-length with it shorter in the back this past summer, and it was SO much harder for me to style. I never got the hang of it, and thank goodness it finally feels grown out and normal again. I hope I learned my lesson about what doesn't work for me!

Going to get my wine now.

Have any of you ever watched that Platinum Weddings show?

I feel like the Luxury board will be just like that. I saw one where they imported 30,000 roses. For a second wedding. Where the bride wore 8 dresses. I think the total cost was like, $2 million or something.

What comes to mind for me is a wedding I read about where the B & G spent $75 k on a wedding for less than 50 people. It wasn't a destination wedding or anything like that. I'm not trying to judge them or anything but I think my FI would have a coronary if I ever suggested spending over 1k per head for our wedding! (If we had that kind of money)

I was reading something over on another board and people were posting about how crazy big a wedding with 400-500 people is. I was in a wedding last summer with a guest list of like 780!

What's the biggest wedding you all have been to? The normal guest number for our area is around 150.

I think the biggest wedding I went to had 200 people. It was really weird, too.

It was in a restaurant, with only enough tables to seat 50 or 60. Everyone else had to stand.

I've watched Platinum Weddings. The Luxury wedding board idea made me think of "My Sweet 16" or whatever that MTV show was with all the spoiled rich girls having $50,000 birthday parties.

I've been to quite a few weddings with 500 or more people. FI and I are having 350 at ours.

2 million dollars? Holy ishh. And eight dresses? I didn't even have enough time to eat my dinner at my wedding. I can't imagine having to work in 7 wardrobe changes on top of that. Seems a little crazy to me. And by "a little", I mean "bat shiit."

:( I was invited to a wedding where I had to stand because they didn't have enough seats. The annoying thing too was that they had an 'open invitation' wedding-they sent invites to some people, and then announced the wedding in church, so others could go too. I got an invite and had to stand, while people who didn't even receive one were sitting. not a huge deal, but kinda annoying.

I think the biggest wedding I've ever been to was around 250. But then, I haven't really been to that many weddings. I feel like if I went to one for the Polish half of my family it would be gigantic, though. Polish families go on FOREVER.
