Maggie Sottero Dresses

Does anyone know how much the Maggie Sottero dresses run.  I'm in love with one but I am on a budget and really need to follow it..

Thanks for your help!

Re: Maggie Sottero Dresses

  • Mine was $750, but I just ordered it so I can't tell you if it's worth it or not yet! They're beautiful dresses though, mine was the very first dress I ever tried on and after that nothing else really compared. It's hard to settle once you know what you want!

The websites with the used dresses sounds like it might work for you though. Good luck!
  • Mine was around $900 (and probably would've been less from a wholesale website), but I tried on an all-lace Maggie Sottero that cost over $1200. So it can depend on the style and the material.

  • I got mine for $789, and I LOVE my dress!
  •  I tried on Maggie dresses and loved them.I ended up with theSophia Tolli gown but my thought is to check for trunk shows. Sometimes they can give you a deal.GL
  • The one I bought was $1100, but my second choice was a $650 Maggie.  Another one was $1400, but I think they tend to be more on the $700-1000 range, than the $1400 area.
  • I got Carrie, it was 695 at my local boutique.

Some in the Destination line, and a few in Sottero and Midgely line,  are 450-     Maggie Sottero  does not sell directly  to  any on-line only retaillers,  and any super cheap  Maggies  with  pictures that say you can order a dress are knock offs,   Fakes.
Small numbers of inexpensive ones- $800 dress for 400 -  were  sold as distressed merchandise (store bankrupt  etc.)  and will be a few of a kind,  not something you can order.

A few brick and mortar stores also have websites,  and do sell authentic Maggie's  at the lowest real prices available without a sale,  or if not discontinued.

For pricing purposes,  one of these that carries a lot of the Maggie lines is The Wedding Shoppe.

I set this to show low priced first.  Although gowns are discontinued most often because they are not big sellers, and some old gowns stay areound  years and years,  just getting issued in new colors- recently many MS that used to come in white, gold and ice blue come in silver, no blue, for example-
if you want to spot older gowns likely to be available for resale,  or soon discontinued and sold for 20% or so less,  rank the dresses Old to new.

Other ways to get a low price -  go to shops that carry MS,  bigger shops have immediate clearance racks.  Some are discontinued dresses-  or a discontinued color of a dress still available.

Others may be ones where for some reason, a bride made a special order then did not take the dress.
I got 2 Maggies at different times from my bridal gown to wear as evening gowns on my honeymoon,  a   pale gold one and a silver one.   A bride ordered one made with no train, and to her height.  I said- isn't the dress paid for- do you give refunds on custom cuts?  They said NO refunds.  But when a bride walks in to pick up an ordered dress,  sees one that costs thousands more and buys the store sample on the spot-  we   apply the money to a new dress and sell the old.

So I got a pale gold AD8503, not for the $499 plus the $100 for the custom length cut alteration -  but for $250.  YES!  $250 well spent!

So do not give up on a dress  as too pricey until you check stores in person.   Also, trunk sales are 10-15% off, so check the MS or store websites for them.
  • Mine (Lavina Royale) was $1300 when I bought it; since then it's gone up to $1500.

  • I got the Adelaide and it was only $630 because I purchased it at a Trunk Show. Research the bridal shops in your area and see if anyone's having a trunk show or if they're willing to part with a sample gown that's in great condition. They normally cut the price significantly that way. HTH!
  • They are all sorts of price ranges, depends on the collection as to price, from about $450 - $2000 is the main price range.
  • I tried on many dresses and nothing compares to Maggie's dresses.  The comfort is unbeatable!  I was lucky that I picked mine out from a local dress shop and they called me a week later and told me that the 2010 line was coming in and that I could buy my dress off the rack for 50% off.  I got it for $500.  This may be the case in many stores.  Check on line first and make a list of dresses you like then start making calls.  Make an offer.  They are getting all the new lines in and need room.  They will have it cleaned and check all seams and beading at no cost to you.  good Luck.  I'm am proud to be a Maggie Bride!
