Another tanning question!

Okay, I have a confession. I am a tanning virgin. Gasp!

I tan somewhat easily, but would like a base before going to Mexico. How far in advance should you start tanning? Will they give me instructions? :) Will they tell me how long to tan for?

Tanning is like a foreign subject to me.

Re: Another tanning question!

  • Meghan, you seem to have a little more olive, so you wont have to build up your base tan as much. I would say sometime in the next 3 or weeks, start going like once or twice a week. You can use all beds, personally I like high pressure beds better, a lot of pp think high pressure beds are safer, no beds are really “safe”, but with you complexion I think you could tolerate regular beds. Super fare pp like Kathie will just burn in regular beds, but I think your skin could handle them. Anyway, if you do high pressure, you could probably start at 9min and work your way up to 12 min. W/ regular beds start at 8 and work up to 15. I don’t think you would need an accelerator lotion, so just stick w/ a skin protector and do what I told Kathie as far as sunscreen and night crème etc. anyway, after about 2-3 weeks of once to twice a week, add a day till you get to 4-5 depending how you are tolerating the beds. I wouldn’t recommend that you tan more than 6 days a week Also take a pic each week in the same lighting so you can gage how dark you are getting, I forgot to tell Kathie that. I asked my best friend in Walnut Creek, who tans a lot where she goes, and she said she uses Tropical Solution in Danville. I also have a friend that worked at a place in the city, so I’ll try and find out what the name of that place is, and I’ll FB you the name.
