If it's something that you can swing in your budget, you can go to a doctor and get a cortisone shot that clears up zits in 24 hours.  It's about $80, and I think that's WITH insurance, so I don't know if that's an option.

Otherwise, keep the area clean, and don't pop it!

  • Ditto, Fishy.  I have like 20 on my arms from a BBQ I went to this weekend.  I had a great time, but I'm itching like crazy now.

Neutrogena on the spot stuff works really well for me. DO NOT TOUCH IT. And put that stuff on it in the morning and at night before bed. Unless you have really sensitive skin or something. On second thought, if you've never used it, three days before the wedding might not be a good time to add something new to your skin care stuff. Hope it goes away for you. Have you ever used witchhazel before? That takes away redness and inflamation too.

Yeah, I've done that before too. FI was really sweet about it for like two seconds, then laughed his head off. It does seem to make it go away faster though.

It seems a lot of us are having a less than stellar Tuesday.  H gets like that with money too, he will get all worked up and anxious but there's really nothing we can do about it.  We save what we can, we pay all our bills on time, and just need to watch our spending.

I can't seem to get contacts because everytime I go in I have an eye infection or he wants me on drops for another few weeks.  I have serious dry eyes and nothing seems to help.

[QUOTE]DH made a really, really, REALLY dumb mistake last night. He decided it was hot and opened the window next to him, which was convenient, but doesn't have a screen. He wound up falling asleep on the couch around 2 AM. The problem? Our sick 8-week-old kitten was loose in the house. We ran around the house frantically looking for him for nearly an hour this morning only to find him perched on a windowsill outside. DH felt awful, was just as scared as I was, and promised it would never happen again. I believe him. But dammit, we TALKED about this before bringing the cats home. There are other windows in the house with screens, and he picked the one that was convenient. The migraine I've had for the last two days does not make me any less inclined to kick his ass.

oh hell. that sucks dude. my H does stupid shiit like that too. I think husbands should have to wear helmets sometimes.
  • Not really a vent, more like a wtf.

H brought up kids last night.  Some days I want, some days I don't want and he got me on a day where I don't want.  So, I was very taken aback by it.

I want to buy a lot of things and can't because we're being responsible and saving up for vacations and kids apparently - ha!

NOthing major to vent about... oh but my cousin isn't talking to me and her boyfriend has convinced her that I made this story (about him telling my friend that he cheated) to break them up because Mike and I want/need a roommate.  PLEASE.  She actually believes him.  They've been together like 7 or 8 months.  Bonus: I told her sister and her parents know and they're all in my corner and don't believe that douchebag, not for one second.

  • I'm super tired and have to stay at work until 4:30 or so - which is like over 5 hours away.

Parker - if you look back a couple of pages you'll see that I had this same problem 3 days before my wedding.  I used some neutrogena zit pads, stopped touching it and thought about happy things.  They went away.

    Good luck!

  • I know right?!

We actually are far from wanting a roommate.  We had one for 3 years.  We are happy on our own.  ANd plus my GF got accepted into a masters program in my city (she already has a mortgage in her own city), so she will be staying with us for 8 months or so starting september.

Does she think I want to fill my house up like the god damn brady bunch?

  • I'm so fucking sick of my overly sensitive best friend. I've sent my exact text to three people now and all of them have said she's holy overreacting batman. And now every follow up text I send either gets a whatever or an insult. Apparently being best friends means I'm supposed to nod my head and smily to whatever she says. She's unleashing two years worth of vents on me right now and I'm crying at work.

  • We went tubing the river in New Braunfels, TX this past weekend, and I managed only to get sunburned on my elbows. I'm not really sure how I pulled that off, but it's a bad sunburn. It itches like crazy, it's going to blister, it's caused my elbows to be swollen...it's all I think about all day.

    It freakin' sucks.
  • kiki, she had a really bad day Sunday and took something I said the total wrong way, and now, instead of dealing with her bad day (that her boyfriend caused) she's taking it out on me. I've barely been responding to her texts but it hasn't stopped the onslaught.

  • Two lame vents:

    1. I'm oversensitive anytime my boss criticizes me.  She doesn't know that but I beat myself up about it and think she hates me when she doesn't.  On that same note, she takes no responsibility for some mistakes we make on the same project and it sucks.

    2.  Andy hasn't started grad school yet so he's home all day.  He gets just about nothing done that needs to be done and it kills me.  I know he's bored and extremely lonely but I don't know why he had to wait until 5 pm last night to go grocery shopping in downtown DC during rush hour with the gas light on.  Crap like this just kills me.

He legit gets frustrated with me when I ask if he got everything done on his "to do" list for the day.  When I come home from work I don't want to have to take care of a bunch of crap that he could have very well gotten done during his entire day of nothingness.

  • Brie, big hugs to you. I'm in a similar boat. I went back to school at 28 to get a second degree to get a job in the industry I'm in now and I'm miserable. I've got shittons of student loans, make barely more money than I did before and now I'm wondering if I did the right thing or if I wasted 4 years on something that isn't going to make me happy the way I thought it would. I feel like a failure and I hate my job. I interviewed at another company doing something I want to do and didn't get the job. But I don't want to just get my same job at a different company to ease some of the stress I have with my boss because I think I will be just as miserable anywhere doing this work. Blech.

I feel like all I think about right now is wedding stress, job stress and money stress. I feel like I'm losing my "fun" side.
