How to word a wedding date change

I am a writer and am trying to word my daughter's wedding date change.  Any suggestions?  Her fiance asked to change the date base on Marine boot camp, job training afterward and it is more convenient to do this after job training. Any example will help.  Thanks!

Re: How to word a wedding date change

  • The Amy Vanderbilt Complete Book of Etiquette, page 349, suggests the following:

We regret that because of our daughter Gail's recent appendectomy, her marriage to David Alexander has been postponed from Saturday, June 11th to Saturday, August 9th.  If we do not hear to the contrary, we will look forward to seeing you then.  Louise and Arthur Cramer

    So you could use:

We regret that because of changes with our future son-in-law's job training with the Marines, our daughter Julie's marriage to David Alexander has been postponed from Saturday, June 11th to Saturday, August 9th.  If we do not hear to the contrary, we will look forward to seeing you then.  Louise and Arthur Batmanfreak

  • Clarification: the wording is needed for an e-mail I am sending to relatives and friends re: the date change.

  • Many thanks,Kristin!  Great idea!
