XP Bridesmaids Lunch

Question: Is a bridesmaids tea/luncheon/whatever a total requirement? I'm not totally opposed, but I am totally broke. So, if it IS a necessary piece of the pre-wedding shebang, do you have any inexpensive ideas?

    I have never heard of a bridesmaids tea / lunch. I have known a lot of people in this area to get married and been in a few of them and never heard of it so I am going to say no, it is not a requirement.

    I had never heard of them before theknot and I'm still not really sure what they are. So, I would say no, they aren't a requirement.

    I have never heard of them. I did throw a bridal party "meet and greet" type of thing for both the fellas and th ladies to get to know each other so they aren't just meeting for the first time at the rehearsal dinner. I see my BM all the time so a luncheon wasn't needed.
