Dress Prices on The Knot

What do the different price ranges stand for? All the dresses either have a $, $$, $$$, etc. What are the price ranges within each of those categories? I am really trying to stay at or below $1,000 so I've been looking at $ dresses but the one I LOVE is $$. Just wondering what price that is??

    $ Very Affordable ($600 or less)
    $$ Affordable ($601-$1500)
    $$$ Moderately Expensive ($1501-$3000)
    $$$$ Expensive ($3001-$5000)
    $$$$$ Very Expensive ($5001 and up)

    You should probably check with a retailer, since these are very broad ranges and also because prices for the same dress will vary from shop to shop.

    Also consider checking out some discounters like netbride, RK Bridal, Pearl's Place, and Jay's. These sellers have authentic dresses at wholesale prices, because they don't have the same overhead costs that bridal shops do.
