Southside Preservation Hall or Joe T Garcia's?

Hey there! I've checked the sticky you lovely ladies put together for reception sites. I didn't see any info on the Southside Preservation Hall (and Rose Chapel) or Joe T Garcia's in Ft. Worth as possible reception sites. I was just wondering if anyone had any info on either place?

Thanks ladies!
Jen

    Chiming in!

I just got married at Rose Chapel on 10/15. I love the venue and got a lot of compliments from my guests about the charm of the place. The venue staff is helpful and they are such nice women. They seem really interested in helping you get the wedding you want.

The venue is mostly DIY as they provide minimal decor and no catering, cake, alcohol, etc. They do clean up after the wedding, which at this price point was a huge plus and a rare find. Also, if you are wanting to do a full bar, they have a limited liquor license and you will only be able to serve beer, wine and champagne.

My photographer posted a handful of pics from the courtyard here (click) so you can see what that looks like.

Let me know if you want to know anything else!

Here is my info from the venue list for pricing/misc. info:

I looked at having my reception at Esperanza's, which is owned by the same people as Joe T's. I got info on their prices by email.

This was last February, but there was no charge to "rent out" the restaurant for the Saturday night (at least, the Esperanza's location I was looking at). The minimum number of people was 30.

They gave me sample menus and prices that ranged from $20-22 per person, and tables/chairs/plastic plates/utensils/servers were included in that price. It looks like their catering service does both restaurants, so I think this is relevant for both restaurants. They have different colors of table linens available (extra charge possibly). Their drink prices ranged from about $7 (wine, margaritas) to around $4 (domestic beer).

They also do cakes, and sent me pictures of cakes as well as the restaurant I was looking at all decorated for weddings. Our guest list grew too large, otherwise I was totally going to go with them.
