My sister attacked me!

So the most awful thing happened about 2 months ago: my only sister, who was a self-designated matron of honor, full on assaulted me in a drunken rage (as I was babysitting her son). I have definitely put my foot down to state to my parents that she is not longer a bridesmaid. I'm getting the guilt trip of the need to forgive (I am choosing to forgive but we all know it's not immediate) but I refuse to have her stand beside me. It's hard enough to have her attend our wedding in 4 months. I am going to be looking over my back the entire wedding to make sure she's not sabotaging my happiness anymore than she is.

Should I even invite her? My fiance is supportive of any of my decisions.

    Stand your ground to your sister AND your mother.

    If your mother forces your hand, call her bluff and if needed, do things on your own.

    Ugh - OK, your sister assaulting you is a reason she can't be a BM!

    Yeah, I have some family members who have histories of problems with alcohol, I am not close to them (due to such history) and they are NOT invited to the wedding. i agree with Suz, family respect and love has to be earned too.

    If you invite her and there is drinking, then she might make a scene at the wedding. If you do invite her then have some way to deal with her prepared. And like PPs said if you don't invite her, it may end your relationship, at least for quite some time.

    a friend had a similar situation...all through the year before the wedding (& throoughout the wedding day) she did nothing but try to direct attention away from my friend even to go as far as try to start a riot about their father (who she falsley accused when they were younger for molesting her). jeeze she even wore a black goth dress to the wedding >< yea she was evil lol.

    i'd have to say, if it was me, i'd still invite her to the wedding, & just ignore her for the most part. If she causes problems, have the GM toss her out. & yea...make sure ur parents understand the situation is final. like someone else said...they're only fueling her fire. make sure they understand that ur day is about U! not ur sister!

    no matter what happens...don't let her get to u. just think of any of her outbreaks will only be an embarrassment for her. it'll in no way reflect upon u & your manners.

    She is family still so you have to invite her. Let her know she is no longer stabding up at the alter with you.
