The Pros?

Has anyone used The Pros for DJ or Photography services in the KC/MO area? I found them and while their site is laid out a little weird - I liked most of what I saw. Some great photos... can't really tell too much regarding the DJ service though.

The pricing is definitely good - but it does look like they would be the kind of company to nickle and dime you - which for the low starting price I can kind of understand. I found some super positive reviews - but then I also found some absolutely HORRIBLE reviews. Thing is - none of the reviews I can find are for this area. I don't want to judge their KC/MO people based on reviews from CA, NY, etc. And since some have been great - I believe it varies quite a bit based on location and the person you book.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. If I can't find any reviews for this area - I'm thinking it'd be best to side with caution and not risk it...

    I chose not to use The Pros because I was doing my planning long-distance and the coordinator I spoke with wouldn't allow me to meet with the potential photographer and DJ without a deposit. I didn't feel comfortable giving money to someone I wasn't sure I'd want to work with, so I decided not to use them. If you're in the KC/MO area, maybe you could meet with them first - I don't know if the problem was the distance or what.

    I'm not sure whether this helps you out at all, but it's all I can tell you. I wish I had more info for you!

    Thanks! That's generally what they've told me as well, but I didn't push to talk with someone either.

    I haven't used Pros, but I just hired Jesse Blacklaw.  She's WONDERFUL.  I met her at a party and there were black and whites on the wall.  I asked the hostess who shot them and she introduced us!  I'm VERY impressed with our engagement pictures and look forward to working with her. I don't have her website handy but her number is 913-549-8226.  Definitely worth a look before you make a final decision.
