'ello?

Anyone around?

H and I got back from WI at like 5, after picking up the dogs from the boarding place. They are such spazzballs, and they smelled. So the first thing I did (while H unpacked the car) was hose them off. Literally. Leashed them to the tree in the back yard and gave them a bath.  They smell so much better, but they both keep giving me sketchy eyes. ha

What's up? Anyone do anything fun today?

Re: 'ello?

  • Do they normally smell bad after boarding? We don't end up boarding Finley very much.

Had a relaxing day!! I am sad I have to go back to work tomorrow. After everything we did in this last week, I was glad to lay around, watch TV, read, internet, etc.
  • No, not usually. But they haven't been bathed in a really long time (like... 4 months? oops.) I hate doing it when it's so cold outside, and they don't fit in the bathtub anymore. So it was a combination of needing a bath anyway, and running around with other dogs for 3 days.  They smell like puppies again though!

I really don't want to go to work tomorrow. I think I picked up a cold from my family this weekend. I'm tempted to use that as an excuse to sleep in tomorrow ;)
  • Hola.

I'm  waiting for Once Upon a Time's finale to air while I cook up a quick dinner.  I did tons of laundry today due to reorganizing some totes of previously unwearable clothes and getting rid of the big stuff.  Beyond that, i didn't do much except finally put up my photo wall and tend the garden a bit.
  • I can't wait for the finale! Except then the show will be over for the season. :( boo.

Random fun fact. My left shoulder is sunburned. From driving home. seriously.
  • I am actually catching up on the last couple episodes of that ondemand. I just found out mary margaret and prince charming are a couple in real life. I like when that happens.
  • Hiiiii.

I have a very clean apartment to myself at the moment; my husband is spending the night at his mother's house. I'm grading papers and listening to silly music and trying to enjoy the most beautiful spring day that I've seen in a long time.
  • Duds, my coworker tried it when we went the other day on lunch. She said it was good, but nothing super great. I think the cake part was kind of 'blah'.  But, it's still DQ so it can't be too bad ;)
  • Im here!  My parents and brother just left.  We did a BBQ and had some laughs.

Stef- you are lucky the dogs let you use the hose.  Everytime i turn the hose on outside to water the flowers/garden Gia takes off like its a flame thrower.  She is so afraid of it.  I have no idea why.  She is also afraid of the broom, mop, and vacuum,

  • Dogs are afraid of the hose, too. That's why they get leashed to the tree ;) Thankfully, I can do it in about 5 minutes each now, so they don't 'suffer' too long. Plus they love being towel dried, so it's worth it in the end. (yes, they're nuts.)

BBQ sounds delicious. Maybe I should add that to our meal plan for the week.
Hi!  I'm just relaxing while H watches TV. We had a busy weekend with the family and doing stuff around the house and I'm pooped. DQ has a new birthday cake blizzard thingy that I want to try.  Has anyone had it yet?
    Posted by ILoveMilkDuds
I had it today! It was good. I liked the flavor a lot although the cake pieces were a tad dry.

ETA: I see Steph's coworker agrees.

    Aww.

One of my cats is afraid of brooms and mops too. He is also afraid of belts. He had a previous (jerk-face) owner, and it breaks my heart to think about the poor thing is afraid of a belt.
  • Jett hates water. Not just the kind from the hose, but rain drops, dew, the sink, etc. I usually have to walk him 3 or 4 blocks before he can pee because he won't step on the dewey grass. He's silly.

and for Mother's Day he's getting me some Bath and body Works stuff. What a sweet puppy. :)

Gia is the same way.  Its why I dont even bother trying to bathe her.  She hits the floor all sprawled out and plays dead.  So she goes to the groomer ever 2 weeks(every week for her nails)

This is what I did today:

I put in my peppers (2 kinds), basils and marigolds and made holes for my tomatoes which I am picking up on Wednesday after work. I emailed the farmer to ask if I can grab 4 peppers too (which I didnt order originally, which I realize is an inconvenience to ask for now) cause id like to put one or two more varieties in. I also planted all my herbs in boxes, planted my beats in planters and got my other planters ready for tomatoes.
  • Looks good Nebb!

  • I'm jealous of your week already, Nebb.

AND we went to that craft fair today? We got a bunch of cute ceramic marker things for the herbs. So I think we're going to do the garden next weekend!

AND, because I talked about it so much. I wore that b/w dress from Old Navy yesterday and it was freaking adorable. I'm glad I finally got it in stock. ha

<div>When I'm on top of it, I clip both dogs' nails every week. They're like fucking talons otherwise.  I hadn't done it in like a month, though, so we had them do it this weekend. Best $10 ever spent.</div><div>
</div><div>ETA: I should say, in my defense- the vet said to only bathe the dogs like every 2-3 months at the most.  They're never oily or anything.  But it was still a long time ;)</div>

Good evening. We have had a crazy weekend. We are making the drive home from the IL's now and about 50 miles out. My shower was also yesterday and I had fun and received so many great things. I'm excited.

  • Hey.

I spent most of this afternoon sleeping. That and looking up how bad my sunburn would need to be to warrant seeing a doctor. I think I'm ok for now, but I'm keeping a close eye on it.
