Need a venue-help!

Just like everyone I'm sure my fiancee and I are trying to save money on our wedding.  I need ideas on where to have an outdoor wedding where you can put tents up.  I'm also open to the barn concept as well.  Any ideas?  I'd realy like to rent someplace cheap, so we can spend our money elsewhere.

TIA!

Where exactly are you wanting to have it?  Here are a few options I've come across.

My BF's brother got married here.  It was very nice and "budget-friendly."

some knotties have mentioned Peeper Ranch in Lenexa, but the website I found was not available.

The Lodge at Ironwoods Park (in Leawood) is gorgeous, and barn-like. They have info and pricing on their website. http://www.leawood.org/parks/ironwoodslodge.aspx
We thought about doing it there but three of our friends got married there and I didn't want to do it there anymore... I like unique!

Everything I am going to talk about here is about Peeper Ranch so if you aren't interested don't bother reading!!
I am actually getting married there. It is a full-working horse ranch and they do weddings occasionally just for fun so their website doesn't have any wedding info. It is a beautiful place, with plenty of outside room for a tent. They have their main lobby area for an indoor space as well. I attached some pics. They are $1000 for the whole day (Saturday), and letting me do rehearsal the night before too for no charge. (Teresa said if i wanted to do the dinner there it would be an extra $500)
They are very very flexible. Let you bring in whatever you want as far as vendors, food, and alcohol. As long as it's cleaned up they don't care. They don't even require a bartender for alcohol or security. The ONE thing they are against is smoking. It hurts the horses so if the owner finds a cigarette butt on the property you'll lose your deposit. But we don't smoke so I love it.
Another small downfall is they don't supply tables and chairs so you would have to rent. So depending on what style table/chairs and the number you'll need, you could be paying up to another $1k, but two grand is stil super cheap for the space. They said it can hold up to 200 comfortably.
If you want to take a look at it, it is open to the public so walk on in, but if you want them to take you around, call/email Teresa Beers. She is the one to contact.
Here are some of the pics.

inside, the cheesecloth drapings were added by the bride/groom.

the gazebo outside. There is a pasture to the left that has horses, and to the right is a pond with a fountain. PRETTY!

If you want any more info message me, or contact Teresa.
