bacherlor/bachelorette party

What are your thoughts on having a combined party?

Re: bacherlor/bachelorette party

  • I am against it as I think the guys should have their own "man-time" and the ladies should have their own "girl time"

  • I think it defeats the purpose of the parties.  It's not really a bachelor or a bachelorette party if it's combined- it's just a get together.

  • true, the idea is to have one last outing with your friends as a single man/woman, as a woman attending a bachelorette I wouldn't expect to see the groom and his guys, it would feel awkward, like they were "keeping an eye on each other."  I have seen groups that convene at the end of the night, but they always do their own thing first.
  • I disagree that it's because the bride and groom are "keeping an eye on each other" as I've attended b-parties like this and the couples were not like that at all. A lot of groups of friends are co-ed and sometimes they have more fun when everyone is all together and not broken up due to their gender.

We had a semi co-ed bachelor/bachelorette party. My MOH and DH's best man rented a party bus that took us to the casino for the night. The party bus was co-ed, but once we got to the casino we split up and me and a bunch of the girls went to the club, and DH and the guys went to the tables and various bars. At the end of the night everyone met back up at the party bus to go home. Many people have told us the most fun part of the night was being all together on the party bus.
