Re: Attention Fellow Michigander Knotties!

  • laniegurl, while I probably won't have any of the items you mentioned above, I saw chargers are at a dollar store the other day. I've only seen silver and red ones at Dollar Tree near my place, but may be other Dollar Trees will carry the gold ones. I think it's seasonal items for Thanksgiving/Christmas. Or I just saw a weekly ad for Michales - 2 chargers for $3. At $1.50 each, I guess it's not too bad (and if you get 15% or 20% off of entire purchase coupon, it will turn out about $1.25 per charger). Not sure if it was beaded ones, but you might want to check out your local Michaels. =) I think the sale ends this coming Saturday...? Hope it helps!

Also, what I noticed is that if you're not picking up the items from local brides, buying used items can get more expensive (especially things like mirrors, vases, or any of other heavy stuff) than buying online (where they offer free-shipping) or renting. I haven't found many deals locally, but hope you have better luck than I do!! =)

  • I can't help you on the linens, but maybe someone else can.

If you haven't been to Dealer's Discount Floral on 10 Mile Rd, just east of Van Dyke (it's in Centerline), you really need to go there for any of the vases or votives you want. The prices are often less than what another bride is re-selling for, and they have a very large assortment. Sometimes they have votives on sale, 2 for $1, etc. They have a huge area of dried branches/flowers as well as silk flowers.

They also have 2 aisle of bridal "stuff", from bouquet bling to pew bow holders, to tiaras & veils.......allow yourself at least 2 hrs to walk through and see everything.

I got a lot of stuff there, and just went back for some stuff for my home.
