holiday weekend weddings

For anyone who is having/had their wedding on a holiday weekend, particularly one that would increase travel expenses, did you write anything extra on your STDs?

I mean ... I'd like to hope that when people look at the date they'll realize it's Thanksgiving weekend of next year .... But I wouldn't put it past some people in my family to not realize until like, idk, the day before lol.

    I did that on my website..it isnt a major holiday but up  north alot of people are off the day after so I put it on their so they will see!

    did you put a the website address on your STD then and just put the holiday part on your website?

    Yes on my STD I put for more info visit our website at ....(whatever it is) then on the accomadations part of the website I put please be aware that this a holiday weekend so please book early!

    i'm almost regretting picking thanksgiving weekend lol. i'm still a year out and about to just be like fuuuhhh these people. i'm eloping, haha.

    lol we have been saying that alot too...everytime some other money thing pops up...but Thanksgiving weekend is tough! Do you have alot of people from out of town? Thats where I think it would be a little harder.

    well. we picked thanksgiving weekend because almost EVERYONE is out of town, so we figured we'd only make them travel once during that time of year, and we were pretty set on november. so this way we'll actually get 3 or 4 days with our family. but everything is more expensive, wedding related and travel related. and it's a pain in the butt.

    but no matter when i picked a date, i could have picked june 3rd, there'd be someone that we wanted there that would have had a problem with it, you know? we just got to the point where we were like f- it, we're picking the date WE want, we can't please everyone else. so. here we are lol.

    Well if they were coming in any way then that totally makes sense. You'll enjoy the people that come and whatev to the people who dont!

    lol that's what we basically said. :) and then everyone wanted a fall theme. and i was like uummmm negative. no fall themes lol. it's gonna be a long year!
