2 Chapels for wedding? Tacky?

I am in quite a predicament. We had to move our wedding date after everything was booked from April to June 2011. I know it's really far out of the way, don't need to remind me but there are reasons why I'm working so far out in advance. Anyway, because of the groom's brother's deployment we are now getting married in June. Anyway, Powell Gardens - which originally given us a discount for off-season (which is hardly a discount since it's off-season - has now changed their mind in giving us the same money off even for a Friday wedding. Because of the way they have been handling us and our situation, I am beyond frustrated and do not want to give them our money. However, I can not imagine getting married anywhere beside the chapel they have. (see the brown chapel below). I plan to at least not have the reception there because that is where most of our money will go and catering is extremely expensive.

The white chapel pictured below is Acquaint Gathering - where I'd like to have the reception. They are relatively cheap for just the reception. They also have about the same benefits as Powell Gardens and a friendlier staff.

Is it weird to have a reception at a chapel after the ceremony is at the chapel?

It's fine. As long as people have seats and food, I doubt they'll care (I wouldn't).

I'm not sure I understand your question. You want to have a ceremony in one place and a reception in another? Happens every day.

How many guests are you having? Because that picture of the brown chapel looks like it will hold about 4 people. Is it as tiny as it looks?

I might notice and wonder why you didn't just get married at the reception venue, but I wouldn't really care or think much of it.

Definitely nowhere near tacky.

I don't think it's weird at all to have the reception in the other place. the only thing I find weird is drinking a lot and dancing sexy in a chapel. It would make me feel a little guilty or unholy or something. But, I have no idea what kind of reception you are having.

I wasn't thinking that she was going to have the reception in the sanctuary of the white chapel. I was thinking that there must be a fellowship hall in the building that she was using.

OP: If you're using the sanctuary space of the white chapel, my answer changes. A reception in a sanctuary is inappropriate for any reason at all.

So, I just looked at the website and clearly, the only thing that is church like about that place is the outside. Obviously it is not used for church worship anymore. So, in that case, I think it looks like a lovely venue and you should definitely go for it.

Thank you for all your opinions! The reception will not have drinking but there will be dancing.

I don't want to have the reception elsewhere because of how cute this place is.

You are correct - it is no longer a house of worship. It is just an old chapel turned into an empty space for parties and weddings.
