how's everyone doing?

I just got an invitation for a bridal shower and it asked for gifts not tobe wrapped. anyone ever go to one that asked that? i just thought it was odd

Good morning! I think Nicole's shower gifts weren't wrapped, but they prased it something about the environment. I think people also request it for convenience... you know, it's such a bother to unwrap a gift!

Any MontCo ladies (seriously) interested in doing kickboxing in Ardmore? There's a deal on Livingsocial today, and I don't think my H would be interested in doing it with me.

Morning!

I guess my body was trying to tell me something. I was reading after dinner (digesting before my date with Jillian) and I woke up at 850. I passed out at 7! I slept through 2 calls from FI and 3 text messages. Then I thought, no way i'm going to sleep tonight after a 2 hour nap. I was wrong - I slept the WHOLE NIGHT. What the heck is wrong with me!?

Northstar - I'm a BM and we're planning the shower now. I just got an email this morning and one BM ask if we were foing to have a "display shower". I guess that means no wrapping the presents and just having it all out. MOH shut it down because aunts, gmas etc wants to see her open presents. I've never hear of it before either. Then again, I've always played games, but when I was MOH you would have thought I strouted 3 heads when I tried to groupe people up for a game!

UGH ... DH is driving me crazy. Doesn't he know I need him to work weekends especially this weekend! He is now off Saturday ugh. I have a hair appointment in the morning. I guess on Sunday I'll be getting everything together for B-Pics. He didn't even tell me it changed. I only asked because he was up this morning and hogging the bathroom when I thought he didn't go in until 11. Way to ruin my sneakiness.

Good morning. I've heard of a display shower and think they are strange. I like watching people open presents. I know not everyone does and it can start to become boring hence the display shower. To each their own.

10 classes for $35. I think I may call before I buy, but I wanted to see if anyone else had interest. It looks like they have a schedule of classes <a href="http://www.washingtonboxingacadamy.com/calendar-class">HERE</a>. It looks like there are some evening/weekend classes that would work with my schedule.

Morning! I have a nagging headache that I haven't been able to shake. But, I should ::crossing fingers:: be getting a jogging stroller for DD today! Woohoo!

I've heard of display showers, but I think it kind of defeats the purpose. I'm kinda a rarity in my group of friends, where if I'm going to a shower of any sort, I'd better have something to watch (i.e.- presents being opened), no games to play, and a drink in my hand.

I know we didn't play games at my shower for my first wedding, so it would have been kinda awkward for the shower guests if all they had to do was admire the gifts I'd gotten all displayed on a table, esp. since not everyone knew each other.

Good morning I'm feeling blah today. I'm a little bummed that so many people can't make it to our wedding. I know the important people will be there. Out of my FI's family only his parents, sisters and two grandmothers are coming. I feel bad that none of his other family is going to make it. If the wedding was closer I would invite some of you girls, but 4 1/2 hours is a little far to go.

MH- I'd be interested in going, but I am not in shape like you.

Good morning! Since I don't have to go to class tonight, I officially have only 1 more week of classes! Then it's wedding planning full steam ahead.

Paprika- woo hoo - fingers crossed for the good deal! I'm sure you and DD will look totally adorable using the jogging stroller!

Amy- aww 4.5 hours is not long at all! It's a shame people will be missing out on it. but like you said - you know the most important people will be there for you - so keep focusing on that like you already have.

Oh - and about this unwrapped BS party...it's definitely weird. I totally understand going green but unless "going green" was the reason specified for the unwrapped presents - it seems odd. Hopefully they have some kind of entertainment at the shower.

Today is my Friday (woot!) and I get to be in a car with my mom for 5+ hours. It's gonna be all-time.

Northstar--I've been to a display shower before. I personally don't like it, but it's supposed to be "less annoying" for the guests. Gzilla's SIL had her shower that way.

Good Morning!

I need some T&P today. My best friend's mom (who happens to be my mom's best friend) just found out she has breast cancer. She is meeting with a surgeon today. This is hard on me because I am very close to her and I just lost my old boss/ friend to breast cancer 2 weeks ago.

I recently went to a presentation shower. The older people / aunts still wrapped presents. And even for all the unopened presents she picked them up, opened the card, etc. It still took forever, I couldn't imagine if everyone had wrapped!

Amy, I am very nervous FI's side of the guest list won't make the 6 hour trip from Boston. I can understand that you are bummed. Sorry it has worked out that way.

So much drama at work this week I just want it to be over with!! Ive been so stressed this week :P

Speaking of stress..... Hil- I'd def be interested in the kickboxing class. I saw that this morning and was like hmmm I want to do this

Northstar- they did a 'dont wrap gifts' shower for my cousins wife a couple years ago. Basically they just displayed them on a table with a tag of the persons name who gave it to her- that way everyone can see what she got. (and also- she didnt want to open gifts in front of everyone haha)
